"Nintendo fan for life"
| RolStoppable said: Super Mario This series was always about skill. When you managed to beat one of these games, it was an accomplishment. But Nintendo made the latest installment, Super Mario 3D Land, a walk in the park. The most insulting thing about this is that Nintendo justifies this design decision by pointing towards fans of the Super Mario Bros. games. Not only is Shigeru Miyamoto ruining the legacy of a classic, but he's also putting the blame on the fans of the classic Mario games at the same time. It comes at no surprise that the Mario IP is seen as a joke nowadays. "I personally think that Mario was always a hero to Italians all over the world since he used to be able to save the world without shaking down anyone for protection money or breaking anyone's kneecaps. In my day, these were the only things that Italians were allowed to do that didn't include piano grinding, pizza making, and singing. Now Mario's more concerned with playing sports, racing karts, selling toys, and being in 3D. Old people don't care about toys and can't see 3D properly. That sellout will wind up on Jersey Shore soon." Metroid Oh my god, what has Yoshio Sakamoto done to this series? Refered to as successor to Super Metroid, the game turned out to be anything but that. It's a disgrace to a once legendary IP. What happened to games requiring actual skills? Other M is a poorly conceived space opera with atrocious writing. "Metroid is about shooting stuff, not exploring a woman's thoughts. If I wanted the latter, I would watch Oprah. Although admittedly, as an old pervert I would prefer if they made Samus even dumber, more subservient, with platinum blonde porn star hair, and an even bigger cup size. By minimizing these things, they are trying to turn her into a role model for young girls and ignoring an old letch's fantasies." |
The best parts.
Dont forget these "oldies" you mention that put Nintendo on the map in the 80s were children at the time. my first ever Nintendo console was the gamecube and i was the ripe old age of 24 at the time.Ive got no problem with the direction Nintendo have taken, many people have slated them this generation stating all the things Nintendo have done wrong. But what about the things they have done right??Wii and DS have dominated this gen and both are the best selling Nintendo consoles in the companies history. What makes this feat even more impressive,is the fact they managed to get ahead of the Sony juggernaught which many thought wasnt possible after the Gamecube sales.i think Nintendo is probably at its weakest when it tries to appease the so called harcore gamers (i still cant define what hardcore is supposed to be).I dont think WiiU will top the next gen,but i dont think they will be getting Gamecube type sales either. The WiiU will sell quite solidly and the 3DS will continue to dominate handheld gaming. In the not too distant future graphics will become harder to improve upon and companies will have to find other ways to set their consoles apart from the competion.Nintendo have tested the water with the Wii and was successful.Im a big kid at heart and Nintendo are a fine alternative when i get a little bored of my PS3 or shooters.Mario,Zelda ,Metroid etc are timeless and just as hardcore as COD,battlefield or M rated games.
It's a good thing that you didn't ask that old crab ass about either Kirby or Pokemon since both of those franchises have always been kid's stuff and Nintendo never tried to attract adults with either.

I am bothered by the ease of Mario 3D Land. Hoping it picks up in the latter half, as there is a lot of potential there

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
not realyy bothered by the ease of 3d land as the special worlds are much harder.
That Zelda "quote" made me LOL :p
EDIT: And the metroid one!
