i know this isnt directed to me, but i just want to add something.

because i agree with him, Uncharted wins quite handily in every department easily, though except for co-op where i find both games to have termendous, fun, and unique takes on their co-op so there is no clear winner in this catagory of me.

but gameplay/campaign/multiplayer it is unquestionably Uncharted 3. no game offers as much diverse gameplay, interesting characters, intersting stories that are well written, standard setting graphics as Uncharted does. 

other multiplayer games seem kind of generic to me after playing uncharted, because no other game offers as much diversity in play as Uncharted does.

not played gears 3 yet im sure it will be good.

but i swear when you get to the yemen level on uncharted 3 you just have to sit back and watch your telly it just looks to good



...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

I loved gears of war 1 but now i m bored with the series.For me uncharted 3 is far better than gears of war3 because gears of war 3 is just run fire run fire run fire game.I left gears of war 3 in the middle and gifted to one of my friend who owns 360 as well.(thats just my opinion.I do not want to hurt any gamer out here who loves gears of war 3)

Chapter 10 on UC3 all the way to finish is like a blockbuster movie.. but its.. a game.. you know what I mean.

Once you enter Yemen on Chapter 10, start brawling on the market, then get abducted.. all the way to the finish my god. It was one fucking hell of a ride! Chapter 1-10 are cockteases of Chloe and like.. setting up the ground for the climax that is the entire fucking game for me XD.

I haven't played Gears 3 so I can't compare them, but, to me, Uncharted 3 is maybe my favorite game this gen. As someone said, the highs are higher and the lows are lower than in Uncharted 2, so can't pick one over the other.

Story/Campaign:

Original: Let it be known that while Uncharted 3 has the better writing and characters/interaction, Gears campaign made me feel like I had a real purpose and need to protect. Sure, it lacks the set-piece moments of Uncharted 3 and doesn't come packed with those clever one-liners, but it's story is richer. Had it not been for Act III, I would call this a tie, but that part did it for me (mind you, I'm still not done with Uncharted 3, so I may update if need be).

UPDATED: Having another look makes me realize that I'm actually enjoying Uncharted 3's campaign not only more than Gears of War 3's, but of any camaign in a LONG time! Of all the Uncharted campaigns, this one is, by far, the most personal! I'm still far from finishing, but I already enjoy it more than I thought and love the set piece moments (it's only second to God of War III in HOW incredible and plentiful they are).

Visuals/Presentation:

This is a bit more one-sided (although Gears of War 3 is definitely the best looking game on the 360). Graphically, I've not seen anything on any other console that competes with Uncharted 3. Leave it at that for now. (I'll have to update once I'm done with Uncharted 3's campaign).

Multiplayer/Co-op:

Again, this is more one-sided, but in the opposite direction. I love Uncharted 3's co-op and multiplayer, but it can't beat Gears of War at Gears of War's best features! Horde and Campaign co-op are just incredible, it wouldn't be Gears without that! Although I still prefer the more competitive nature of the original, Gears of War 3's multiplayer & co-op are some of the best in the biz, if not the best (certainly my favorite on the 360).

Gameplay/Mechanics:

Original: This is where it gets a little tricky. While Uncharted's gameplay is much more dynamic, Gears of War 3's is tighter. I prefer the feeling of shooting in Gears because it's got a real sense of weight (something I thought Gears 2 went overboard on). This is all on top of Gears' unparalled cover mechanics! While I like the touch-ups to Uncharted 3, Gears of War is Gears of War. Hard to top my favorite 3rd person action franchise on what it does 2nd best only to it's multiplayer!

UPDATED: The more I play Uncharted 3, the better it feels. It has a bit more heft than Uncharted 2 had, which I love! Still not as refined as Gears 3, but makes a better case than any Uncharted before it.

 

WINNER: Gears of War 3

 

OVERALL WINNER: TIE

Both games have their strengths, but right now - Uncharted 3 is my single player GOTY, while Gears of War 3 is my multiplayer GOTY. It's a complete tie until I've finished through both extensively. By then, I'll declare one the, actual, winner!

Looking forward to see your winner. I really feel like UC3's gameplay is so rich. The addition of the melee really made the game for me. I am completely in-love with it. How far have you gotten in UC3? The entire second half of the game is just mind blowing in my opinion! Have you tried Co-Op adventure yet? It's really fun as hell. It's like an alternate universe in the Uncharted saga :D. Also, playing Co-op Hunter is also shit ton of fun. The amount of times I scream when playing with my mate xD. Co-Op Arena is sort of like Horde also.

 

The mechanics ofcourse depend on what you like, but UC3 focuses on so much more imo. What I disliked about UC2s MP was the fact that it was a shooter, straight out. UC3 finally allows me to use the verticality to my advantage and be stealthy aswell as platform a ton! I am truly in love with Uncharted 3 as you can see by my signature, and whilst I feel like I somewhat know your taste CGI; I have a feeling you will not be dissapointed. It is truly an amazing game.
