Sapphi is not American so it is not veteran's day for him. Obviously, he wants to attack Americans today on purpose.

This soldier should not be given a chance at parole. War does strange things to people, but this is stranger than usual.

War gets to people and they do strange things. Not defending his actions but I'm just saying nobody knows what was going on in his head at the time.

I think life, with a chance of getting out in 9 years is reasonable. If I was the judge I'd make him serve at least a mandatory 12-14 years before he could get parole though.

As awful as this person's crimes are, his conviction is a good sign for the American military because most militaries around the world would not charge their soldiers for crimes similar to these. Certainly western democracies would behave similarly, but they are (by far) a tiny minority of countries.

i respect your veteran's day but a question: do you have a happy day every day? happy valentines, happy halloween, happy thanksgiving... all these happy days and many people aren't so happy it seems ;)

The guy was actually a mormon, and severely undereducated. Don't know/think that any of those aspects had anything to do with this (well, the severely undereducated partt probably had something to do with it).
