He deserves to be treated like an animal. Should give him to the Afghan or Iraqi governments so he can be tortured and see what it's like.

War gets to people and they do strange things. Not defending his actions but I'm just saying nobody knows what was going on in his head at the time.

I think life, with a chance of getting out in 9 years is reasonable. If I was the judge I'd make him serve at least a mandatory 12-14 years before he could get parole though.

Seems like defending his actions. And no, he shouldn't have the possibility of parole. Getting out after 9 years considering what he did is ridiculous. You're only saying that because he's an American who butchered muslims. If it were the other way around you'd be screaming for the death penalty.

Well actually when I think about it he probably should get life, or at the very least 20 years then the chance of parole.

Your comment about it being an American who butchered muslims got me thinking...if the roles were reversed and it was Iraq/Afghanistan invading America and they butchered civilians then I would most certainly hope they get killed. My initial post honestly wan't racially motivated though, I was just somewhat defending his actions because it was during a war...but my opinion has since changed.

It was, you just didn't realize it. And war isn't an excuse for despicable actions.

I'm not denying that what he did was wrong. It was absolutely awful on all accounts.

But today is Veteran's Day. Not the appropriate day to post this.

-snip-

Sigh- I know you mean well, I really do. But America =/= the world.

You are right. America =/= world.

The thing is sapphi knew that it was Veteran's Day and STILL posted this. I feel that it is not a coincidence.

I like how even though I basically retract my earlier statements and post something that I figured would be more to your liking, you still go on the offensive. You're impossible to please and not worth the effort.

Sad to see this. I hope this does not in any way sour the views people hold toward the US military because thousands upon thousands of men died fighting for our honarable military so that not only the US, but other less fortunate countries, could enjoy the freedoms I so very cherish.

He deserves the death penalty.

No offense when I say this, but you're still concerned with the views people hold against the US military?

OT: (In reference to the comments in the article)

It's an American who did this to Muslims, so:

"But it's warrr! War does nasty things, war isn't pretty..."

If it was a Muslim who did this to Americans:

"MUSLIMS ARE EVIL! MUSLIMS ARE BLOODTHIRSTY SAVAGES!" And so on and so forth...
