I'd put Forza 4 in there ahead of Gears 3 tbh, but I still thing Gears perhaps deserves a spot.

I dont think Portal 2, Skyrim or Zelda should be on the list.

That game is a huge deal, because we have a Forza 4 vs. GT5 thread that is approaching the 1,000 replies mark and it has come to the point that GT5 fans apologized to Forza 4 fans. That's how big Forza 4

ok, but imo the only reason to NOT include it is perhaps because of the old  "it just does the same a bit better"... but then why would Uncharted 3 be there?

There is every reason for it to be there.

Because all those games nominated have an amazing singleplayer experience(?).  Most people who want to play Uncharted wanted it for the story while Gears of war popularity is thx to the multiplayer.  Same reason why Battlefield 3 is not in the list.

And if I would nominate 5 games it is possible that Uncharted 3 would not be in my list it is difficult to choose especially with so many games still releasing.

Gears got stellar reviews, was a commercial success (already the biggest game of the year, so far), and people that played it were pleased with the game. I don't get it. Even the Academy Awards has a cut-off date. And people get to vote for their favorite? How many voters will have played all of the games nominated? I know Spike TV doesn't speak for the world. Hell, I don't even think it's a respected awards show, yet. What I do know is that it's the closest thing we have to a Video Game Oscar and it's got the biggest exposure. Gears not winning, I'm fine with. Gears not being nominated? That's some ol' bullshit!

More proof that Microsoft doesn't pay off people?
