And people criticize muslims. Speaking of that, it's funny how this article doesn't mention the religion of the parents (which is most likely catholic). I wonder why?

You are absolutely right. Religion was also the first thing I thought about when reading this. The stupidity of this crime isn't all that important, but the religion of the people involved is.

Right on the money.

@OP You know, I see so many people here on VG getting their panties in a twist every time there is hate thrown towards homosexuals. But from that post of yours it's clear that there is no difference between you and those people. You are just applying the same mentality towards Christianity.

This world is so ironic - people are fighting the very principles they themselves adhere to. This is called insanity.

No I am not. I demand you present proof of that (e.g. me rejoicing at the news that some christians were tortured somewhere). Can you present such proof?

*goes into Christian hate threads*

*sees thousands and thousands of comments*

*gets pissed off and leaves*

Ok Sapphi, you win - you don't hate Christians. I was wrong.

*realises that sometimes the easy way out is much... well, easier*

So you admit you have no proof. Good to know (not that I was expecting you'd find anything).

Sapphi is really in a roll today. First he rains on zlejdi's parade and tries to defend crap art with fallacious arguments and now this ridiculous thread about how supposedly christians like to burn children's genitals off.

Sapphi as much as I hate these kinds of stories and agree they are horrible. You tend to focus entirely on one or two incidents to prove a point rather then showing the real issues. This has nothing to do with whether you are Christian or Muslim or any faith or belief system. Similar occurances happen around the world regardless of belief system.

Also the fact that this is about two kids accused of being homosexual. So what? Honestly what about the countless children disfigured or killed because they have strait sex? How about the thousands of children killed each year in Communist China by Atheists who wanted a boy rather then a girl. Or the buddhists who do the same in China!

The children and young adults killed in honor killings regardless of culture or religion.

Look yah bad things happen and this is a horrible story. But you always report these stories in an attempt to picture Christians in particular as these horrible people. You only report stories that line up with your ideology and further your point without ever acknowledging the actions of millions of others.

I mean some of the things to Soviets did and the Chinese Government and Atheists in China have done to Christians is horrific and in many cases worse. Like Chinese people breaking into a church, raping the women in front of their husbands and fathers before killing the men. Cutting the women up and leaving a blood bath.

Or burning church's filled with children and parents while they suffer dying the Athiests stand outside doing nothing. While the Government also stands aside and allows the massacres to happen in the interest of silencing religion so that Athiesm goes un-challenged.

Look its human nature to do such brutal actions. Each and every human is capable of doing these things if put in the right circumstances or mental conditions. The best we can do is speak out against these injustices, but you don't seem to want these horrific events to stop. Instead of trying to promote unity forgiveness and human rights you try to promote hatred and intollerance. That is a very sad thing to see!

So you really think these parents would do that to their kids for any other reason than their christianity? And then you go to attribute several astrocities to atheism. You are aware that none of those can be commited in the name of atheism right? (unless you're batshit insane) But they can easily be done in the name of religion. You're just making it seem as if it's the fault of atheism. It isn't. It's the fault of an oppressive government.

Hatred and intollerance cannot possibly come from atheism in any way at all. But it can easily come from a bible or a qu'ran. Stop trying to imply that it's the other way around.

Lol, you honestly believe that?  Hatred and intolerance of those different from ourselves is born form being human, not from religion.  Some are able to overcome it, some aren't.  And atheists have just as much chance of hating and not tolerating to those who do believe there is a God, as people of religion do.  This can be seen in the way they lash out at Christians by finding ways to blame them for things they do not control or having heated arguments about how they are stupid for believing in a religion that is just, in atheist's views, fantasy.  Or trying to have Christian customs removed from the public's eye.  In fact, your response and the OP's demonstrate that both of you have a certain level of hatred and intolerance of Christians, blaming them for this incident even when no religion was brought up in the original report.

Firstly no I don't expect you to make a thread about every single atrocity. I was pointing out you only create threads that support your ideological point of view even though they aren't really relevant to that point of view. I have never seen you post a single thread about the atrocities Atheists have committed. In fact if I bring them up you tend to completely ignore them or justify them or blame them on Authoritarian Governments. I am sorry but Atheists in China attack Christians on a daily basis and most often these cases are not actually perpetrated by the authoritarian regime but average atheist citizens.

Why don't I create threads about all the atrocities committed against Christian's? Because I know everyone is aware they are occurring just like atrocities against other faith groups. Me posting about it would be showing bias and trying to push a religious agenda, it would be unfair to all those others who get persecuted and no coverage at all. I don't want the reputation you have of only promoting hatred towards religious groups and never posting a story without an agenda. Sapphi you are quickly getting a reputation as someone who likes to create propaganda and can't tolerate people with different world views then your own.

Also blaming the slaughter of unwanted girls on culture is convenient. Considering you took a stance against circumcision something deeply rooted in Jewish and Christian culture but that is horrible and killing babies because you want a boy is perfectly fine. Stoning is also cultural I guess you support that as well and in many cultures rape and female genital mutilation are cultural so I guess they too are okay. Justifying actions based on culture is absurd and you yourself have said so.

Your right that could have been interesting. But as I said I like to avoid pushing propaganda I always reply to defend my beliefs but I try to avoid producing topics with the sole intent of creating hatred or fanning flames. It is not fair to the other users who read my threads to attack their religious beliefs and only represent my own world view.

Also yes you have always condemned such atrocities but you never admit that atheists are responsible for any of them. Instead of acknowledging that their are horrible Atheists who do just as bad things as any other religion you pick entirely on the religious believers of VGChartz. In particular you single out Christians but have also attacked Muslims and Jews.

If I start creating tons of threads about the horrible things Atheists are doing the only thing that would be accomplished is tons of pissed off VGChartz members. I don't see a reason to go out and attack users of VGChartz and their beliefs out side of defending my own. You have created a reputation for always pushing an agenda you can't create a thread without trying to somehow attack Christianity, Islam or other religions.

Example you state there is a 57% chance that this family is Christian. That isn't as big as you'd like to think. There is a 43% chance that they were of another belief. Fact is their are multiple belief systems this could be from Voodoo to Hindu. You mention Christianity because you want to push hatred of Christianity in your thread.

Also if all these atrocities stopped you wouldn't have any ammo or basis for your beliefs. I highly doubt you would like for all the religious atrocities to stop. You feed off the hatred and is a huge basis for your beliefs from my prior convo's with you. If all the Christians were perfect and always did the right thing you wouldn't be able to criticize them anymore which would definitely not be something you want.

Its not that creating threads about this event is wrong its your attempt to fan the flames of hatred that are. There was no need to mention religion at all in this topic since there wasn't even a basis for the accusation outside the slight chance the family was Christian. That fact was irrelevant and the only possible reason for its inclusion would be to promote hatred and hurt peoples ability to understand or forgive.

I am sorry but Atheists in China attack Christians on a daily basis and most often these cases are not actually perpetrated by the authoritarian regime but average atheist citizens.

No, you're just making this up. You're also kinda forgetting that there are other religions in China, and not all Chinese people are atheists.

never posting a story without an agenda

That is a lie! I make lots of threads that have no agenda whatsoever.

Are you delusional or something? Where did I say selective abortion is perfectly fine? Where did I say that??? I just identified the correct reason why it happens, I did not try to justify it. I don't support the sexism promoted by traditional cultures (I actually don't support traditional cultures in general). Lying to my very face? Do you think I don't know what I say or something?

You mention Christianity because you want to push hatred of Christianity in your thread.

No, I was singling out that Western media likes to point out the religion (especially if it's Islam) in news reports like these (e.g. 'Muslim parents mutilate children'), but never mention the religion part when christians commit such acts (or use terms such as, 'fundementalist', 'ultra-religious', 'sect members', to assure the christian majority that 'we're not talking about people like you').

Ok, this is just plain insulting... and baseless.

Wow that's some ignorant ass shit to say. Guyana is only 50% Christian, 35% Hindu and 10% muslim. So yeah there's a 50/50 chance they were Christian but they could have been Hindu or Muslim just as easily.

But what's religion have to do with this? Its just some crazy ass mom. Not everything anti-gay is due to religious reasons. I personally am against homosexuality but not because of religion.
