Forums - General - Anonymous declares war on drug cartel.

Good, its about time people realized that anonymous has ultimately done some good things for society (like Wikileaks). Not that this will change the media message much though, but we'll see.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Cool with me I guess. I'd rather them take down drug cartels than PSN or XBL or something.

I don't know how some lame-ass internet hackers expect to bring down a drug cartel with...ya know...guns and stuff.

Once they get the guy back they should just expose them all anyways.
Anonymous is actually quite powerful by the looks of it.

That's actually a very wise idea if you ask me.

So here's a random question, what did these guys wear before V for Vendetta? Or did they just not use videos like this before that movie

The mask existed long before V for vendetta. There was a real person who attacked the government on November 5th. named Guy Fawkes.

well yeah no crap, I saw the first 5 minutes of V for Vendetta too.  But I have a hard time believing Anonymous used that charicature before it was popularized.

A worthwhile cause, by anonymous? Awesome! I hope they release the poor guy and then they expose all the corruption anyway. Maybe it will help int he downfall of drug cartels and free our streets of drugs. I would like nothing more than for drugs to go the way of the dinos.

They should just release the info and help Mexico deal with the problem.

I think anonymous has something going on here. They are untouchable ( to an extent) and information/knowledge is much more powerful than any gun and they don't play by the rules either. They can be just as cunning ,deceitful and cruel as need, so long as the cause is good. If anonymous manages to save that man's life and still put that info to good use, then they got my support from here on out.

I can't help thinking if the cartel ever find out the identity of one anonymous member involved, that member is going to go through hell. The cartel are happy to pick off anybody who goes against them so I hope there's no more casualties.

I dont think they actually even did anything until 2006/07. But there was a graphic novel that came out in the 80's.
