Please don't mind the retards, personally, I don't believe he's actually from arizona anyway.

Also, sorry to say, but the Wii could easily have been modified by the store you bought it from, with that in mind, the only real chance you've got is to go back to the store owner you bought it from and hope you have some sort of connections you can use to put some pressure on him.

El Corte Ingles, is not a mom and pop store you go to the owner and ask him to replace it. I mean, would you do that at Wallmart? We are talking this size. And I highly doubt that Il Cort Ingles will mod Wiis. They are a huge multinational retail chain, for gods sake.

For those who say my wii is moded, I burned a gamecube disc (metroid prime. I can do it, I bought the original) And the wii said "the disc couldn't be read", so I don't think it has a modchip; or it has one and it's bad installed...
I can't believe that my wii is moded if I buyed there, maybe it's a "chinese wii"??? llike it's not nintendo qualty and it's a clone.
Oh, and I don't know a lot of English, but I could understand all the other posts.

well, if it isn't a mom and pop store, then you still need to go to the store directly to register your complaint and you'll probably need you receipt for this. At the very least THEY need to speak to a nintendo representative to clear this matter up. Still need your receipt, otherwise you're really kinda out of luck.

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!

Someone purchased the Wii, opened it up, tried to mod the thing and brought it back to the store when it didn't work. The store turned it on, saw that it booted up and placed it back on the shelf (maybe the store didn't even bother to open the box). In any case you got a used Wii from the store.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

sue them

You can't just...sue them...how exactly would that work? What if his console has been opened? It breaks the terms of Nintendo's warranty. Perhaps a mall worker did try to open the console, it's possible.

Not in Europe. In europe you have 2 years warranty of 2 years. And those is only gone if you done something that actually is uncommon with your product, or changes it. If he sues, he has a good chance, I would guess.

If the Wii never had a mod chip in it (if you think) to begin with, why try a game that you burned (a ROM) and play it on the Wii? Wii, to my knowledge, cannot read pirated copies of games UNLESS it has a mod chip in it to read and decipher it. Why not try a regular GameCube game.

I know that it made those weird sounds and tries to install something; that happened to me for the first time this past Christmas when I put the new Wii Fire Emblem game in and it wouldn't load. I unplugged it, put the disc back in and it played fine. I think recent and newer games have 'something' on them and the Wii has a harder time reading the disc.

EDIT: If the Wii was 'modified' to have decals (the Zelda look), then yes, it may have been opened if the persons who had it before were installing some lights to light it up.

Wii still doing the noise... until I gave my wii, some punches, hehe, and NO MORE NOISE but I tried some discs (originals) and said the disc cannot be read.
So, I think the problem is with the lens.

Edit: the only game that runs is metroid prime, wich freezes on loading (it`s PAL, no NTSC)
