Update: In a post on their official forums, BioWare has confirmed that Battlefield 3 owners will receive early access to multiplayer when the demo launches in January.

According to BioWare's Jessica Merizan, "Redemption of the Online Pass for Battlefield 3 will unlock this early access. Owners of Battlefield 3, on any platform, who activate their Online Pass will automatically be granted early access to the multiplayer portion of the Mass Effect 3 demo. There is no need to enter any other codes, the early access will be applied to the EA Account associated with the Online Pass. This applies to all regions where the demo is released."

Merizan added that the demo's specific release date will be announced in late November. At the same time, other ways to earn early access to the demo without a purchase will also be announced.

Other details, such as how far in advance players will gain early access, have yet to be revealed. Access to the single player portion will not be available until the demo officially launches in January.

BioWare has announced that Mass Effect 3 will receive a demo in January. As posted on the game's official Twitter feed, the demo will include both single-player and multiplayer modes.

BioWare provided details about the new multiplayer mode last week, but it isn't immediately clear how much of that content will be in the demo. Specific platforms haven't been announced for the demo, but the game is set to release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC when it hits stores.

Mass Effect 3 will be released on March 6, 2012. A specific date for the demo hasn't been revealed.

This shifts me even more to getting BF3 dang it. I might have to skip MW3.

Nope I'm not touching the demo...I don't want to play it only for it to be over so fast and then I have to wait 2 months.

IDK I just don't want to play it because Mass Effect is a very story driven game and to play an out of place mission in a demo would not be ideal for me.

Not for me. I want to play Mass Effect 3 in its entirety when it launches in March. But I hope this makes the game sell more.
