the name? likely PS4. yr. of release? like 2014 unless MS release in 2013 considering Sony's E3 2012-2013 conference will be last. that will give them the time to counter if need be.

price? $299-$399. Sony will want to be cheaper then the comp. or at the least MS. power? PS4 will likely be more powerful then Wiiu and nextbox but not by much maybe by 5X.

Sony will lead consoles with new ip once again throughout the 8th gen, and maybe even buy quantic dreams?

JRPG's will be more present and Sony will lead in this area as well. i'm sure we'll see a UC4, and a Jak&Daxter game. and likely return/sequel's of many PS1 and PS2 games. UC4 will likely be late in the gen.

the Vita cross platform play approach will be the major key in extending the life of PS3 and making PS4 a house hold name and the games that will come with it via cross platform play.

i think PS4 will have 4-10g RAM, and a very powerful CPU, GPU. i'm not a tech guy so i'm not sure what else can be done other then bluray having more space/more then 93g?

i think Sony will lead next gen in everything including 1st place but they won't always have it. it will be a battle for sure.

move will be present but only in the form of 2 controllers with analog sticks. PSeye will be intergraded into the console and be more advanced while getting allot of support.

Sony will go with IBM again and maybe even go with IBM's brain mimicking processor?, or an improved version of the cell. or maybe they'll keep the cell and streamline the technology to make it easier on dev's.

i hearrd something about a 16-32 core processor?

augmented reality from the console mostlikely but it could be from the controler. the OS will be made by google.

I want PS4 to be two PSVitas duct taped together with some minor changes. The sad thing is I'm 100% serious. Stream to TV or play on the console itself compatible with DS3 and Move. The only thing I would like to add is two infrared cameras one in front to capture and calculate the users and another in back to capture and alter the world for really interesting AR. I can't decide if Blu Ray is worth changing the size of the machine. They could probably get it out the door for $299 around 2013 or 2014.

Powered in between a mid- and high-end PC.
-GPU: kepler with some maxvell tech, perhaps.
-CPU: Power-based. Either Cell-compatible or not.
-RAM: Enough. Importantly, it will have some reserved for future OS functions (lessons learned and all that)
--Probably in the same range as the nextbox all around, far more powerfull than the Wii U. (Going the Nintendo route is far too risky).

Games: Yes, there will be some.

Surprises:
1) Making the PSV the standard controller - its standardized parts should bring the production costs down quickly. I don't actually think this will happen though.
2) SSD instead of HDD. More likely than 1) at any rate.

Price: 35-45 000¥ - for the cheapest version.

Games: Hopefully some new franchises and games that fully utilize the virtual headset recently announced (bit like move support) I would also like to see Twisted Metal go on, an actually good Gran Turismo, the return of star wars battlefront (what happened to the promised PS3 version?) and a MAG 2 hopefully with the bigger capacity even introducing more players per match.
Price: Hopefully learnt from the pricing mistakes of the PS3 so in the region of £300- £350 (dunno what that is in dollars)
Other: hopefully will come in both black and white and maybe some light strip feature caus that always looks cool ;) Probably will come in a 40GB, 60GB, 80GB, 120GB and maybe even a 250GB (depending on POWAH etc)

PS4 will fail, nowadays people are more into the Xbox, its the better selling console in US and UK the two biggest countries. The only reason PS3 did well is because people who were loyal to PS2 waited.

But now the Xbox 360 doubled its sales from the Xbox whereas PS3 isnt even a third of the PS2. Seeing as both consoles have pretty much the same lineup anyway there will be a bigger shift towards Xbox next gen.

Xbox will dominate more in US and UK than it already does and other European countries will turn towards the Xbox just like UK did. And PS4 wont survive with just Japan.

PS4 will pull a dreamcast.
