Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
I fixed the thread. Now Rol you must promise to not make any threads regarding All 4 One...
or I shall break the thread again! (however I did it in the first place)
Microsoft don't care about sales, they're taking the er, Quantic Dreams route (I think it's them) as long as the quality is enriching the 360's library, it could sell 10k.
They've just commisioned another Sesame Street game today, (And Toy Story & co) as proof.

I won't promise anything, because I not only know how threads can be fixed, but also how they can be broken. |
BUT BUT LEGS! edit: CASUALS NEVER BUY GAMES FIRST WEEK!
AND THE HOLIDAY SEASON, JUST YOU WAIT FOR ARTIFICIALLY INFLATED SALES!
AND THE KINECT HAS THE BEST INSTALL BASE OF HD MOTION CONTROLS!
SCREW YOU ROL! YOU'RE JUST A DE BLOB FANBOY!
Pixel Art can be fun.

Sure, no problem. Threads can break when there's a problem to connect to the server during a submission. That can either be the server's problem or your router's. For the former it's random chance, for the latter you need a router that is on its way out. Either way, it's difficult to deliberately reproduce such an error, because most of the time your submission doesn't go through at all. |
i think it's the kind of game that parents wish their children would like to play, when they actually want this:

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

This game is not a flop, and based on this estimate it is probably a very successful title. Sometimes in our jaded outlook we forget that game sales follow different trends when it comes to different genres and demographics. While we over emphasis games that are relevant to us as a community we tend to forget that games do rest outside of our sphere of interest. The reality is this genre doesn't launch spike. It either steady sails, or it spikes after four or five weeks on the market. So to actually start out this well is a very promising sign. It seems to be on par with the gold standard which seems to be Spongebob. I am really kind of shocked to find this kind of demand on the 360. A console that most of us do not equate with games for the very young. I wouldn't be shocked if this title managed to get close to a million sales in about a years time, and yes that does make me feel a tad bit unclean. I think we have to wait till late November to see if this title will take off. This can probably teach us something about the consoles demographic, and how it might be changing. I doubt it will get Microsoft to drop its hardcore lineup. No dozen games for small children match up to a Halo for profitability. |
Man, where was this mentality when all those Wii games had slow starts (and subsequent megalegs) and those other Wii games that didn't sell millions but the made the publisher a profit while everyone here was so quick to yell "flop"?
VGCers really reveal their double standards constantly (not you personally Dodece, I'm speaking generally).

It's not a double standard. Some people view things one way, and some the other. It would be a double standard if the same people meant both. That's not the case here.
