@OP

Most people prefer if you copy and paste the info into the OP itself. Makes the thread more popular.

It would be pretty cool if there were Japanese-speaking guys  in here to translate some of the infos, nevertheless I'll try c/p some of the infos that are comprehensible through GT.

DO YOU SEE how this thread has EXPLODED in popularity since you changed the OP!?

padib# Crazy in US maybe but not in the rest of the world ;), I would say this is a good price here in Sweden.

And don't forget that almost everything is more expensive in Japan.

I know, you guys have it hard in Europe. I'm a penny pincher myself, so I have a hard time with steep prices. I would die in Europe... Glad these prices sound good to you. For me I'll just stick to the 4GB. The cheaper the better.

@Kurasaki I'm in Canada.

Remember that the price of the wi-fi only PSV is about $325 in Japan. Memory cards will be expensive, yeah, but they won't be as expensive as straight currency conversion make it seem.

Japan is just again going nuts for Sony...hell yeah!!!

hmm.. this whole card thing almost puts me off the Vita..

I agree that it is annoying, but nowhere near enough to put me off the Vita. I do have a tablet though, so that will be better for watching videos and stuff

As I understand, all the games will have room on their cards for patches and saves, which is a little annoying, I would rather some internal storage for save files for security and the ability to back up. But we will need cards for downloadable games

im pretty sure Sony have said some games wont work without a memory card too... infact im pretty sure the highlighted the fact Uncharted is one of those games.. weather you buy it physically or on PSN

Well surely you need space somewhere if you download it?

If you get it physically, the stuff is saved on the card that the game comes on

well yes, but as i said.. i have read sony has said the game NEEDS a memory card. alot like the PS2 was.. if you brought a PS2 and a game back in the day and didnt spend £20 on a memory card basically you where screwed!

on launch to play Uncharted & some other games you will HAVE to buy:

PSV + Game + Momory card just to play it. (yes even with a physical release copy) lol

its insane!

Wow.. and people say the Xbox hard drives are over priced... How much memory is included internally on Vita?

That's the catch: None.

The simplest answer is that something had to give when Sony announced the price for the Vita. It's sold at a loss and they need to make the money back somewhere, so you have to deal with proprietary and expensive memory cards. Game cards can hold their own save states, but anything that goes beyond that requires a memory card.

i thought i read somewhere that sony is not planning to sell the vita at a loss, or at least if there is a loss, it would be small.

anyway, i agree, they do need to make the money somewhere. could sony be using their ms technology in a new package? seems like the best route to take to save on development cost. also, having their own cards would mean that sony would be getting all of the sales for the memory cards needed for the vita which is a smart move actually...until it gets cloned by the chinese of course.

getting a large card could also mean savings in the long run. those who bought large cards are probably planing to buy their games from psn. and if its true that digital copies will be cheaper as compared to physical copies, and if the difference is 10$, then after buying about 10 games, theyed have made up for the expensive card.

Are you sure? They have specified that the game cards have space on them for saves and patches
