That's the catch: None. The simplest answer is that something had to give when Sony announced the price for the Vita. It's sold at a loss and they need to make the money back somewhere, so you have to deal with proprietary and expensive memory cards. Game cards can hold their own save states, but anything that goes beyond that requires a memory card. |
i thought i read somewhere that sony is not planning to sell the vita at a loss, or at least if there is a loss, it would be small.
anyway, i agree, they do need to make the money somewhere. could sony be using their ms technology in a new package? seems like the best route to take to save on development cost. also, having their own cards would mean that sony would be getting all of the sales for the memory cards needed for the vita which is a smart move actually...until it gets cloned by the chinese of course.
getting a large card could also mean savings in the long run. those who bought large cards are probably planing to buy their games from psn. and if its true that digital copies will be cheaper as compared to physical copies, and if the difference is 10$, then after buying about 10 games, theyed have made up for the expensive card.
