yeah, which sucks.. spent so long on a game and the motion stuff.. maybe they'll let another part of rockstar work on it. they can do so much with the game
Well never say never. Rockstar owns the ip now, plus with having shipped over 4M thus far, it could happen.
Chances for LA Noire 2 are low, but changes for a spiritual successor are high or at the very least, elements of it incorporated into R*'s other games (though they should just release GTA V before we all forget about the franchise)
For any other studio, L.A Noire 2 would be announced by now, but Rockstar have the luxury of having a number of high selling IP's, so it isn't necessery for them ..

This is what I'm thinking. I'm hoping that maybe Rockstar incorporates all the good things from their games this gen into the inevitable GTAV. Here's hoping for Vice City 2 using LA Noires face technology and some sort of Dead Eye gameplay mechanic.
Oh god that would awesome.

Well I have mixed feelings about that. Atm, R* are going the down a route of all their games becoming more realistic and cinematic. I, however, want GTA to retain some of silliness, not on a Saints Row level, but back to the PS2 games and I am not sure that incorporating the LA Noire tech would actually be that useful.
The issue with the technology is that it only works for the face, so further work has to be done on the rest of the body, making the end result less than perfect. So it works really well for the interviews, but for many other things it falls flat when compared to something like the motion capture in Uncharted. So if interogation is not a central gameplay mechanic, I fear a lot will be lost.
Also, I did like the way that LA Noire was drastically different to any other game, to such an extent that I can play it with my girlfriend, as it is interesting to watch being played as well as playing yourself
However, I am not convinced R* will actually release another distinct detective game, and it might just be in GTA V, and there are interogation sections perhaps?.... But as far as I can see, all they can really use for their other releases is the tech, not really the gameplay
Honestly I have to be optimistic and say a 70% chance. Simply because if you look at sales of L.A Noire they are really good compared to some other franchises that Rockstar owns. I think the new game would have none of the staff from the original and many changes will probably be made. To be honest I wouldn't expect much revolutionary in a sequel its creation would be a cash grab an attempt to capitalize on the originals success.
But Rockstar is known for creating actual franchises out of their IP. Look at Midnight Club and GTA or even the less successful ManHunt. If Rockstar sees L.A Noire as the next big franchise which they might then expect them to create a sequel. However a sequel will likely take time Rockstar doesn't usually just churn out sequels.
But I fully expect Rockstar to consider L.A Noire as a franchise and the possibility of a sequel is very strong. Of course we will likely Red Dead Redeption 2 come before sequel to L.A Noire!

I don't think so, Team Bondi's gone, and Rockstar have other IP's that sold more. They only have so many good teams I'd guess.
I think they should incorporate the detective parts. Into grand theft auto so it's more varied... and bring back most the stuff they took out of 4 that was in san andreas.
But I dont think this will happen. that would make me really excited about GTA again. But GTA4 sold 20+ million so maybe that's not a good thing to mess with.
