SIM car racing is a sport. If that doesn't count though, then F1 2011. I only like racing games, if I were to play a sports game I'd rather just go out and play it.

No need to explain since Kart racing has recently been added as one of the events to London 2012.
They are still deciding which items are legal, but the banana peel is already official. (Source)

The Mutant League series were my favorite sport series. I believe they had (American) football and Hocky. It was sensational. The additional powers game the game more excitement and strategy than traditional sports games. After that series Mario Tennis and Golf on N64 were amazing.
