Is it a good idea to offer free DLC for Resistance 3 even though it sold horribly?

It's no secret that Resistance 3 kinda flopped. Now, Insomniac is offering free map packs.......shouldn't it be the other way around?
Shouldn't the map packs be free if the game sold well?

THIS IS WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE
Bad Sales = Offer DLC for fair price to recoup losses
Good sales = Free DLC as a thank you to the community

This is just the way I see it. Thoughts?

Yeah they should be sold at a price because now people won't truly enjoy them because they didn't have to work to get them. Insomniac is mean for doing this because now no one can enjoy it. :P

They did the right thing and this makes me want to support them over other devs who would charge you.

I still want to get Resistance 3 but just haven't had the money. I'll take free DLC over overpriced DLC anyday.

how has it "kinda flopped". its freaking sold half a million in a month.
how the hell is that a flop, the only way that could even at all be considered a flop was if its name was call of duty.
this isnt a flop by almost all standards.

i hate stupid articles like this, seriously how has it flopped?
so im guessing unless a game sells more than a million in under a month then now its a flop!
weird 95% of games are flops i guess

I remember RFOM had map packs in the store and nobody paid for them. There would be maybe 1-3 games in DLC and 100's on normal maps.

Since when has offering "free" DLCs become a bad thing?
IGN blasted Polyphony for not offering paying DLCs now this?
I really don't like the mentality of paid for DLCs = supporting the game.

Also the mentality of it didn't sell 1zillion copies in its first minute means it flopped needs to die as well.



PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

The game's from a series that has sold 4m and 2m respectively= the game would have had a bigger budget that most games devolopers can only dream about, add to that the game is already hitting the bargin bins only a month after release which is sure sign that a game has under preformed.

It's flopped just live with.
