I love both versions but the ending of Ringu is a lot creepier.

Bothering people so they can get sweets and money, I find it so irritating. It's OK if they are young children with really good costumes and their parents are with them.

Earlier we had some kids, probably around 13, who were just wearing facemasks, they put no effort into a costume whatsoever. This was like 8pm and they wouldn't stop ringing the fucking doorbell. Those are the trick or treaters that I can't stand.

Parents never let me go out trick or treating. Never really cared though towards the end of my youth. They said it was the devils holiday but would buy candy for the few kids that would come by our house (didn't really live in a true neighborhood). So they were kind of hypocrites but they would give me the left over candy which was usually enough. So basically, I could sit at home and not have to walk around to get my free candy during Halloween.

I went trick or treating once when I was 16 with friends in jeans and a wife beater. Told the people I was dressed as white trash (even though that is what I wore a lot when I was young trying to be a wanna be gangster). Some were like... aren't you a little old to be trick or treating??? I would then reply this is my first time and that usually shut them up.
