Halloween Appreciation Thread

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays (it's got candy like Easter but you replace the mandatory church visit with costume parties and alcohol). Which is why I decided to make a thread to talk about everything Halloween. For the occassion, I've changed my avatar to feature the Death from Castlevania, I invite all of you to change your avatar to something creppy or scary. For the Photoshop pros out there, you can also zombify your current avatar if you'd like to. I'll even make a hall of gloomy avatars if enough people make the switch.

Now what I wanna know is how you celebrate Halloween? Will you be attending a costume party? What will you be dressed as? Will you make it a horror movie night? Will you share scary stories with friends? What was your best Halloween costume ever? What's your favorite Halloween movie?

Haloween kinda sucks if you don't like taking candy from strangers. Which I don't, got an ocd about who I accept food from.

^^ This one? I agree it's not scary at all.

As you grow up the candy part becomes less important. Nowadays, what I enjoy the most are the costume parties (I still buy myself a bag of Rockets though)

Well, it is forbidden to celebrate Halloween in most of my country.
Apparently, it is the same day as The National Flag Crap Day or something

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays as well. ^_^

I don't know what it is about it... I mean, the candy was nice and all but I love the supernatural and otherworldy feel to it. Seems like anything could happen on Halloween. :P

My last two years of high school I made my back yard and garage area into a haunted house completely by myself. I bought so much black tarp to set up the maze. The first year was more of a traditional haunted mansion that was more atmospheric and supernatural, and the second year I made a carnival based haunted house with each room being a different "attraction" (Cannibal, Clowns, etc). It was a huge amount of fun. ^_^

Also, I love The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. It's my favorite theme park attraction ever. So my avatar is The Hatbox Ghost from the ride... but ironically enough he was taken down before they opened it up in the 1960's (the gag took too long to pull off). He still remains popular amongst fans of the ride though.

And favorite Halloween movie: The Nightmare Before Christmas. I know, kinda "tame" for such a holiday, but the movie perfectly sums up what I love about this day. I love the atmosphere and the magic of it all, and not so much the actual gore and frights (if that makes any sense :P)
