I love how you try to spin stuff again. This wasn about conflicts between empires, but between religious groups. Jerusalem was christian, and was attacked by muslims which caused Christians to start a crusade. Oh, and dont pretend that jerusalem was never attacked by various different muslim empires who had nothing to do with jerusalem before its religious sovereignty came to question

Religious groups can have no pretense to a particular territory. That is a political matter (thus making any religious conflict be ridiculous). There was no unity between Christians. The Christians that led the Crusades had never owned Jerusalem, and thus had no right the think they should own it. Plus, the Crusades were led by state armies.

Ugh, they do actually, ESPECIALLY is that territory is Jerusalem, the holy city for 3 major religions in the world. I mean, what the hell do you think thousands or chrstians, jews and muslims died for in Midddle Ages

Certainly for nothing worthwhile, that's for sure.

Well, I hope they are happy with what they've accomplished.

Land, money, and the ability to project power are why we fight wars. Ideology, religion, ethnicity are merely the groups we can form ourselves into so that we are able to fight wars

For the modern Israeli & palestine conflict, surely religion is major reason for that conflict and are not mere propeller for mans hunger for power, money, and land.

The Israeli settlers are claiming pretty large tracts of land for themselves. Much like when the Americans herded American Indians into smaller and smaller plots of land, those motivated under the rallying cry of restoring ancient Zion are really just out for land, and the Palestinians also want living space to the point of being willing to slaughter the "Zionist invaders," and while the Palestinians themselves and many of their Arab or Muslim supporters claim it as an anti-semitic reaction, most of them are ultimately using it to their own ends.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Well i am glad that Abbas at least acknowledged this conflict was caused by the arabs.

Hmm doesn't the whole crap happening there have a root in Palestinians trying to destroy the newly born Israel in 1948 only to have their asses handed to them in following war ?

Personally I think we should be supporting Israel - they certainly are no saints but at least they share our western ideals.

Actually it has it's roots in 1921 with arabs trying to kill the jews in the Jaffa Riots.

Still if your whole justifcation process boils down to "who started it" you'd have the right conclusion going.

Palestine needs a state urgent... my opinion.

Gaza is a concentration camp... its not acceptable!
