Forums - Gaming - Samsung delays new Android out of respect for Steve Jobs!

Good move on Samsungs part?

Yes 20 43.48%

NO 16 34.78%

Maybe 6 13.04%

other option please 4 8.70%

Total:46

That's just bad business. I think that may be a cover for the real reason they are delaying the phone.

Weak.

Ulterior motive, companies don't change business strategies to respect someone from another company dieing, whoever it is ...

I think they are seeking the maximum coverage in the mainstream media. If they do this presentation only a week after Jobs death, I'm sure they will have much less coverage than one month after.

if thats really the case, then Android have more respect to him than Apple, they don't care if he died, they're releasing their stuff ASAP.

I find all this hysteria around Jobs nauseating.

i find your hysteria towards everything is more amusing

just saying.

Seems like they are just using that as an excuse.

oh come on people, stop whining.
You would have blamed Samsung if they continued with their plans, and you're blaming them when they delay their announcements out of respect for Steve Jobs.

I hate Apple. I really do.
But I also respect Steve Jobs for what he has achieved as human. I don't like where he lead Apple, but what he accomplished is astounding. This man made a broke company in one of the most valueable brands of the world.

It doesn't matter what's the real reason was, maybe it was out of respect, maybe it was a business move, who knows, but can't we just stop all this business thinking for a second and just accept the delay?

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

I'm fine with it. I like it when big corporations do this.
BTW I doubt they're using this for an excuse to do so. Do you really think Samsung senior staff where sitting around wondering how they could postpone this when Jobs happened to die and they went "bingo!". Pretty unlikely. If they needed to delay the launch they'd already have made noises about it.

Also, this isn't that uncommon in terms of someone like Jobs. It just happens rarely because there are so few peers of his level. If Bill Gates or Larry Ellison or some equivalent dropped dead I wouldn't be too surprised to see similar stuff from competitors.

Remember at the level Jobs was at he's seen as a huge influence and peer, not just some senior exec.

And if they are using it as an excuse, they must have thought "what timing" when they got the chance.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

It's not hysteria, it's haste: deaders must be consumed fresh, lest they spoil.

About Samsung: both courtesy and free advertising, win-win.
