you've just listed the main 3 reasons to own a 360 and theres your answer.

i'm sure quality (RROD although that doesn't apply with the slim model) of hardware has something else to do with it.

other then that, and Sonys more robust first party why not own both?

I'm french and i'm on jeuxvideo.com mainly, the bigger website about video games in France even in Europe.
There is a terrible war between the PS3 and the 360 but the PS3 is prefered because there was 6 millions PS2 in France ( for 60 M french ), the PS3 has a plenty of exclusives games for example this year, there was only Forza and Gears 3 for exclusives 360 games although, on PS3, there was many games like LBP2, Motorstorm, inFamous 2, etc ...

And for example, if I ask my mother a name of console, she would tell me " Playstation " or recently " Wii "

And the question can be inverted ... why 360 is so strong in USA ?
PS3 has a lot of exclusives games, etc ...
The price drop haven't an effect on sale ( ok first week but after ... )

In France, we wonder it.
Why Halo is so popular ? ( yes it's a good game but not the BGE )

The PlayStation 3 is a better system and europeans are smarter than Americans. Case Solved!

The PS3 also has an amazing library.

The online is only slightly better on the Xbox and you have to pay for it.

A lot of the services on Xbox Live are only available in America.

This thread is really dumb. Apparently any system that has Halo and Gears and a racing game totally not inspired by another racing game is a must buy. Also, apparently, the fact that MS is American influences the minds of feeble-minded Americans, or so the thread starter says.

It's not just Europe, it's more a WW experience concept like Europe, Asia and Japan even in NA PS3 might not be selling as much as 360 but there is still a good sense of brand name there. Every Playstation conference, the opening starts with since 1994 this....since 1994 that. This is there 3rd console +PSP so there's definately history there.

MS will have that same feeling more then likely next gen when the current X360 owners pick up a 720. As to why your not understanding this, i have no idea. Maybe the fact that your looking at this narrow minded since you reside in the US and you already have that preferred console pride going on. That would cause you to question other countries selections that differ from yours.

but why do American people chose 360 over the PS3?  I mean the PS3 has an amazing library!  Uncharted, Gran Turismo, Killzone, inFamous!!  the online is just as good and its free!
