Forums - Gaming - Android 4.0 and the Nexus Prime (Updated!! Verizon confirmed; Nov 3rd launch!)

Tis my birthday on November 3rd! Me wants!

Around the Network

Really awesome phone. I'll see when and for how much this is available in Canada. I hate the expensive data plans. Will try to the get the minimum basic one.

While the phone has cool specs, I have a beef to pick with Ice cream sandwich and the overall OS structure they are going for.

I saw a bunch of different articles on it and the features and layout, and so far it looks like a big mishmash of other OS's. I see some WP ideas in there, with mostly iOS being copied and even some WebOS thrown in there for good measure.

It just looks like a stylistic and thematic mess to me...even more so than Gingerbread and Honeycomb.

I see your point even though i haven't used previous android phones for more than just a few minutes here and there. As far as mishmashing of other OS's is conserned, it is indeed true as they hired the guy who worked on the Web OS. I want somewhat interested to jump from ios to android mainly because of flash, bigger screen and more customization but i am not sure why don't they have a dedicated web site or videos as to how to do certain things on android.

Whenever apple comes up with new firmware or new features they always make those super awesome cool aid videos with smooth talking people explaining how it is done. One can make the best product but unless it marketed a certain way and the features are explained and hyped i think no one will care (IMO).

This is true...other than for Windows Phone. I think this is the first time in the history of technology that Microsoft made something fundimentaly different from everyone and it actually works.

Not once in the past do I recall a microsoft product making a statement to apple..."no apple, you are wrong, this is actually how it should be done"...despite their cool people marketing ads. :)
