Is there a reason why Vgchartz is unusually slow as of late?

Well,....just right now it was just slow as cr*p.

Why is this website so slow? Everything else runs fine. I blame all the divisions in the site like gamrreview, gamrtv and others.

Its a miracle someone can stay that long on a website this slow.

Yeah, DB work can get a litttle frustrating in this situations.

It seems pretty stable, more or less, in the day time, but when night time rolls around on the eastern coast, the poop hits the fan! I've noticed that it lags A LOT around midnight EST.

Hmm, backups are probably killing it late at night, but that should be another hour and a half later. I remember when the site fit under 20GB. Now it's over 120GB.
