@OP: Release a handheld against Ninty?! They'd be murdered... You see how poorly the PSP is doing (compared to DS) regardless of Sony being the most successfull home console producer in history. No chance in hell.

Then our chance of actually ever seeing halo DS have just gone out the widow
If it has a DS or GBA slot, they will stand a chance hehe!
But seriously, PSP has crappy software sales but it's still doing good in terms of making money for Sony. Where there is lots of money, Microsoft wants it's share sooner or later... just a question of time. Microsoft might not be able to eat away the DS crowd when the DS2 will arrive but there is still a big PSP crowd. Enough to make lots of profits. If Microsoft will enter the handheld business it will mean the death to the PSP.
Just imagine XBox live on the go!The XBoy will appeal to the PDA/Iphone/Ipod crowd and can peacefully co-exist with the DS or DS2.

I like it. Now I want one.
But ssj12 was funnier. And more Microsoft style.
No, if anything Microsoft will make a multipurpose handheld device that incorporates many things. I would think it would be a more advanced PDA with Windows OS and loads of other features with only a few games, mostly by Microsoft developers with 1st or 2nd party games.

Same with MS's Empire, handhelds don't exactly threaten taking over the living room. They can't be living room media centers*, which is what MS's is after. |
Sure. Then the EWOKS helped kick the Empires ass so far up into it's GI tract that it was sucking on it's polyps like all day jaw breakers.

Yeah, but since it's a buddy of a buddy story I know I would have trouble believing it if I were any of you. :-p

Off topic, but I still believe there will be a Halo DS. The first reason I believe this, as I stated above, there are already DS2 games far in development. We have to assume that it will improve the power so it could handle a nice looking Halo game especially if you look at current games like Brothers in Arms DS.
The other reason I believe that is because of the Halo DS prototype that Cassamissina (or however you spell his name) showed up got canceled. I know games get canceled all the time, but the way that got canceled reminds me of how the Zootfly Ghostbusters got canceled. I wouldn't be surprised if at the time whoever was making that Halo DS prototype someone else already had the license and was already hard at work on it.
The Zune actually is doing pretty good. Microsoft actually did something that no one else has: break into the market share of Ipod. You know how many "Ipod Killers" came and went without much of a gasp? probably not cuz no one ever pays attention to them. But the Zune is actually doing fairly well, considering how many years Ipod has on the market and name recognition.
Also, has anyone tried the Zune? my gf got a new one for christmas, im loving that thing, i kind of wish there was a way for me to trade in my Ipod for one, haha.
Back on topic, hopefully Microsoft doesnt go into handheld market. There have been rumors about this for literally years, back when they were barely even talking about xbox 360. I dont ever see it happening.
The ZuneBox Portable 90°. And like the Zune, it will manage to lose one billion dollars.
Still better than XBox 1's 4 billions
The project has already reached an advanced stage. Team leader is Darl McBride and he's rumored to have promised he will fare almost as well as Melinda French did as MSBob's chief

But he couldn't promise he would be as good as he was at SCO.
