Forums - Nintendo - Winning Eleven/PES 08 Wii Trailer

Looks really good, and the controls look interesting. I wonder whether it will be succesfull though, Konami said they wanted to make the controls really hardcore. And even though it looks good, the 360/PS3 version look a lot better of course.

I guess it'll depend on what the Wii controls add or subtract from the game. If they really enhance gameplay then it'll sell. I firmly better most people will take better gameplay (more fun) over better graphics. IF they add little, nothing or worse, worsen the experience then it won't do well.

It will sell well, but not better than the Xbox360/PS3 versions. I have lost all faith in Konami in creating a great game for the Wii after their latest announcement...

I can't see the trailer...

what are you talking about, the wii gamers will lap up that game like if it were pure heroine, and no I'm not talking about PES08.

Normally I'd report you and have you banned, but I suspect you're just living up to your username.

As for the video, looks pretty good. I'll consider picking this one up after review scores come out positive.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Wow it looks just like its ps360 counter parts.

 2008 end of year predictions:

PS3: 22M

360: 25M

wii: 40M

ok. So I think it looks just as good as the HD counterparts. Maybe this is the first of the multiplatform games built on Wii and then ported to 360/PS3? Has Konami stated anything about who is building these games, i.e. which dev house?

Plus, based on Wii's userbase and Europe's love of the game, I expect Wii version to outsell the other two.

Think about it. This clearly a game that will sell much more in the Others market than anywhere else. So, Japan's masses have Wii and will buy it. Others masses have Wii and will buy it. NA masses have 360, but, soccer games don't do nearly as well in NA as they do in Others, so Wii FTW.

Only thing is that in Others the Wii isn't too far ahead of 360. So, I have room to error here and be wrong.

This game has been available for months on all platforms. Don't expect this game to sell well.

However the next version of PES for Wii should come at the same time that other versions, since they will have a Wii engine ready now.
