Forums - Microsoft - Bloomberg: Xbox Live getting Comcast, Verizon access; expects HBO, Crackle, Bravo, Syfy, Lovefilm, and more

I'd love to be able to watch HBO shows on my Xbox! But knowing HBO, they'll probably require you to have a cable subscription first, like with their HBO Go platform. Which, to me, is just missing out on a lot of customers who just want Internet content only.

Anxiously awaiting more info on this.

i am curious. now that netflix sucks i could use a better mid range tv option. impress me MS, impress me.

How does it suck?

Cheap bastards are still upset about a company being forced to raise their rates just to stay in business.

Apparently they though they were gonna be able to pay just $7 a month for Netflix forever.

Oh... I still pay 7 (or is it 8) a month for netflix for streaming alone so i'm happy. I never used their DVD stuff anyways.

Who uses the DVD service anyways. This whole Netflix thing is totally misleading. The most popular part of their service is streaming not DVD rental! What a bunch of noise honestly.

Many people use the DVD service, or in my case blu-ray. The majority of their best content is disc only so of course people use it. The only new movies that are available to stream usually come from their deal with Starz.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Yeah I would say that both the streaming and DVD service are equally as big as each other. BTW Netflix just signed a deal with Dreamworks so expect to see all their stuff come to instant viewing.

@Goddbless thanks for clarifying, I didn't realize that. As for me, I don't have it yet (just moved), but I was counting on just using the streaming service.

@yo_john Hopefully it'll be a trend that extends to other studios. That would rock.

Agreed I would love to see more newer movies come to instant viewing. I hope they snag a bunch of the big name studios.

I would definitely love for these options on live, but if it means mandatory raising the price or getting a cable subscription to something I dont need then count me out!

I'm a user of comcast AND verizon... can I get a free 360?

I can see it now: I call up Comcast telling them I am moving and need a tech to come up to activate my television, the tech guy shows up, he asks a few questions, he goes back out to his truck, and he comes back with a 250 GB Xbox 360 console. He tells me the Xbox 360 is my receiver.

Now if I can only get the woman in the house to dump DIRECTV.

cheap bastard??

the services doubles in cost all while reducing the amount of content and you call me a cheap bastard?  i could handle the price hike if there was anything worth watching on the service anymore but i'm quicking growning tired of how much i'm paying just to watch the occasional re-run of kids in the hall.
