Forums - Gaming - Would you guys enjoy Uncharted and Gears of War if they had bad graphics?

I've had a couple of games that looked really good but simply were not fun (Shadows of the Damned, Killzone 3). I'll likely never play SotD again and Killzone 3 was the first game I traded in to Gamestop in ages. Good graphics are not enough for me.

Now I admit that I only bought Gears 1 and Uncharted 1 to showcase the power of their respective consoles. After that, it turned out that both were good games. So yeah, I would still buy both if they didn't look as pretty.

Latley, I've been having a lot of fun with my Wii. Zelda TP, Starfox Adventures, and World of Goo, mostly. These games don't look bad but they aren't "jaw-droppers", either. They engrossed me more than a lot of technically impressive games, though. Like finding a mate, good looks will get you noticed. It's what's inside that counts.

i agree killzone is one of the finest example's of amazing graphics and horrible gameplay! i don't like the game at all resistance is surperior to it

plus it's to realistic

I still play PS1 games regularly... so yes!

Yes. I would enjoy them as long as they have good frame rate.

Graphics are not everything, but in case of uncharted it helps to showcase the action sequences. If any game benefits from graphics, its uncharted.

Of course, I don't feel graphics make the game, its just a nice bonus. Gameplay/story > Graphics

No. They're both based on cinematic presentation much more than on fun gameplay so I would skip them. Both are terribly overrated in my opinion.

gears maybe.. Uncharted NO!!!!

Both great games anyway, but so much would be lost without the great graphics. The fundamental gameplay is great, but the emotion of the experience would certainly be lost

Bad Graphics? What's that anyway? I'm yet to meet a PS3 game with bad graphics. I picked up Uncharted without really knowing anything about it, there wasn;t really much buzz here about Uncharted:DF. I just bought it because it was Naughty Dog and figured I couldn't go wrong.

If it had barely above PS2 graphics I might have thought it looked a bit ordinary, but I still would have enjoyed the game well enough to platinum it. Which means I would definitely have bought Uncharted 2, and beyond a shadow of a doubt Uncharted 2 would have looked better than Uncharted:DF even if it was still only good rather than great, so the improvement in looks of the sequel vs. the original would have kept me happy.

Graphics adds to the aesthetic of a game. People forgive dated graphics in old games because they know the game is old but they want to play the game anyway. If someone put out a new PS3 game with PS1 graphics I don't think I'd be interested.
