Forums - Nintendo - wii sold as many as the gamecube

Wow Congratulation, that was fast. Wii is doing a way better job than Gamecube did.

I have 2 friends with Wii's, they're helping the numbers.

Around the Network

Joelcool, if the GameCube's userbase wasn't Nintendo fans, why did pretty much all of the big sellers come from Nintendo? With a very few exceptions, like Sonic, Monkey Ball, SCII, and Rogue Squadron, most games that weren't from Nintendo struggled to sell more than a few hundred thousand in America(and America was the Cube's strongest market by far). There may have been a handful of Nintendo games that sold so dismally, while the majority of their games sold upwards of 500k and quite a few over 1 mill. I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that the Cube sold to many Nintendo fans and had it's share of casuals as well, but obviously not like the PS2 did.

If you knew people that "switched" from Nintendo to the X Box instead of the Cube, they weren't Nintendo fans(in the sense that you are using) in the first place. They were just riding whatever wave suited them at the time, like the majority of the market does.
