Uh.....yay?
Was this really worth its own thread? No. Blog it or something.

Naw. I thought everyone should know this since i am kind of known to be only a PS3/PSP Fan.  :)

Good for you, make sure you get Diamond and Soul Silver, they will definitely give you many hours. You should look into NSMB and MK.

Nice. Hope you enjoy your new system.

Damn it, does this mean 2x the amount of threads by this guy?

The DS is definitely a great system to have and it has a lot of great games on it. Personally for me, it's my 2nd most played system, which goes in this order for playing time 360>DS>3DS>Wii>PSP (just started playing this again, bought Persona 2: IS)>>>>>PS3 (only used for movies as there are no ps3 games I want to play)

As for what DS you should get.The DS Lite is great if you want to play to play GBA games as well. If you don't care about them and still want a portable system, then the DSi is nice as it has a slightly larger screen and it's still very portable. If you want a big screen then the DSi XL is great, but not as portable as the others. The 3DS can also play DS games, but I still prefer using my DS over my 3DS for DS games.

Yeah, just buy a Lite instead. You can at least play two of the greatest Zelda games ever made. A Link to the Past and Minish Cap.

But i would recommend you a 3DS instead. The line up is nothing to brag about, yet. But it can play all the DS games for all the regions. And it has already the, arguably, best Zelda ever made. You can't go wrong with that one. As for the games, there's much announced at the time, including jRPGs.

I'd go with the DS lite since it still has the backwards capability with the GBA. I didn't see enough in the DSi to warrant the drop of the GBA slot.

I might end up owning all consoles.

...DS is next though, I missed my Pokemon.

Glad to hear. Never let console preference come between a gamer and great games. As long as you have fun, it's justified.

Which is why I rely on the few friends I have.  I have been playing some Gran Turismo (3 and 5 at different friends) a little recently.  While I enjoy it a lot I would never let myself buy another Sony product again which is why I rely on friends (I'd never buy Microsoft either).   The lack of a "simulation" racer on Nintendo systems has always gotten to me a little.  Fuck the Need for Speed (EA boycott still in effect easily) and other arcade racers.  If I want an arcade racer I will gladly play Mario Kart.  My company preferences do become me and my games.  However, being able to play off of friends consoles lets me enjoy games that I would never own due to my preferences.
