Forums - Sony - Long Term Effects of PSN Outage

It's been a few months now since PSN got shut down, so I wanted to bring this up again to ask PS3 users how their loyalty to the PlayStation brand was affected by the outage.

How did you think Sony handled the outage? Did you accept their apology and felt satisfied by their "Welcome Back Program"? What was your biggest concern (data lossage or inability to play online)? Would this influence your decision to buy future products from the PlayStation brand?

My whole attitude toward this is that I got a bunch of free games for basically playing other consoles and offline PS3 games :P Thanks Sony!

Never exposing my CC to them, data loss wasn't a concern. The email is a dummy one as well. Online games? Losing SFIV was annoying, but I have stuff to cover it. I did well I think.

Didn't change. Shit happens.

Not going to take it out on Sony. They provide me a free service and good games. Why should I complain?

Never had any 'loyalty' to Sony. I own a PS3 because it's a good platform.

With that said, this hasn't really affected me much. Apparently Sony had a fairly unsecure network system prior to the outage. As long as they've fixed the online up to par, I'm happy. Never used CC information or anything like that online.

Supposedly it just went down again recently. Did that scare anyone who has a PS3? Not scare, but maybe worry you that this was a continuing thing?

i was playing UC2 during the time they said it went down and nothing happened so i was surprised as i was still playing and did anotheer match. even when i stoped playing my friends list and PSS was still running.

OT: i have no info to still so it doesn't bother me and nore did the PSN hack. you'd have a better chance of knowing my info  if you work'd at wall mart then on any online site or organisation.

considering it happened to many others this should nolonger even be a topic!

should i trust EVE online, Sega, or any othe the other victims of those pussy ass hackers?

There was an outage?

Sorry to say this but anybody who are loyal to a brand are frankly an idiot.

Had no effect on me. Dead nation is an awesome game though.

4 ≈ One

Other than being offline for 1 month, the hack-outtage didn't affect me.

I'm not foolish enough to input my real name and real life address and info or real life financial information...or even my main Email address into what is basically a TOY.

Alot of people have been doing this, and in a way, this hack was a good thing as it makes people more aware of foolishly and nonchalantly providing their RL info into every site they come across.  It was a good lesson for them.

Again....no real affect to me, other than getting 4 free games. ( I have 2 accounts :)  )

Nothing is totally secure. So you might as well just stick to where you are at. I guess apple computers are pretty good though, but they do not have an actual console. So yeah just stick with PS3 if you like it.

nice to see someone understands my point, but remember. i'm everywhere except xbox live, and mobile phones but i support all game dedicated consoles.

coming soon to vita, psp, and 3ds. looks like psp will be my first handheld. thinking of getting a go?
