Forums - Sony - Long Term Effects of PSN Outage

How has your loyalty to the PlayStation brand changed?

It became much lower. 6 7.59%

It didn't change much. 54 68.35%

It became much higher. 19 24.05%

Pretty much the same, if MS got hacked I know they would just cover it up and everyone is giving them flake for waiting 6 days to tell the media but they were in touch with law enforcement and I don't see any major company doing it faster. They did well under a bad situation and the whole oh no they got my name and address thing is so blown out of proportion you have to put down that stuff to get a magazine subscription how secure to you think they are or any other forum you fill out, it's not secure info it's not your social security number, worse case you get more junk mail and some scams sent to you.

Not so much. I rarely play MP and the last time i used my CC was a few years ago so i wasnt worried. Did change my email details just to be safe.

Only change I have really made is buying PSN cards from my local store whenever I want to purchase anything online just so that i dont have to enter my CC details.

I don't play games online with my ps3 and I am not loyal to any company. I respect and support all games dedicated consoles.

Had no affect on me because I was never "loyal" to Sony. However, the outrage never bothered me and I didn't delete my billing information after it was solved. Shit happens but if I somehow got my identity stolen or credit card information jacked due to the PSN, then Sony would've been paying me a few millions.

hackers are "insert bad word here"

That is how I feel.

I was at 3 week long trip during most of that time so +4 free games for me ;)

I am currently loyal to Sony this generation. Next Gen I might switch over it all depends on how much the consoles impress me. The PSN hack didn't affect my loyalty at all. Sure I hated not being able to play online for 30 days but I got 2 free games out of it :D

In fact the PSN hack actually helped me. It made me change my passwords and make them stronger on other services. Also PSN hack made Sony security much better. So I doubt it'll happen again on this large a scale.

I was on a PSN dry spell for the first two weeks of the outrage anyways I had nothing to play online.

Supposedly it just went down again recently. Did that scare anyone who has a PS3? Not scare, but maybe worry you that this was a continuing thing?

i was playing UC2 during the time they said it went down and nothing happened so i was surprised as i was still playing and did anotheer match. even when i stoped playing my friends list and PSS was still running.

OT: i have no info to still so it doesn't bother me and nore did the PSN hack. you'd have a better chance of knowing my info  if you work'd at wall mart then on any online site or organisation.

considering it happened to many others this should nolonger even be a topic!

should i trust EVE online, Sega, or any othe the other victims of those pussy ass hackers?

Nothing is totally secure. So you might as well just stick to where you are at. I guess apple computers are pretty good though, but they do not have an actual console. So yeah just stick with PS3 if you like it.

nice to see someone understands my point, but remember. i'm everywhere except xbox live, and mobile phones but i support all game dedicated consoles.

coming soon to vita, psp, and 3ds. looks like psp will be my first handheld. thinking of getting a go?

PSP is pretty popular in Japan. i loved it a few years ago with all those sleek UMD movies. But I have no want or care of the PSP now.

well my good friend the games will continue to come and not completly sold on 3ds and psp anyway but after seeing god eater 2 i'm real close
