| Soriku said: Yeah, sure, the anime can be watched by anyone really because of fansubs but it was mainly made for Japan. If it wasn't it'd be localized. And many quality games don't sell well, or at least not 650k. How many threads on this site, or any others really, have the OP complaining that a quality game hasn't sold as well as it should?. Quality and word of mouth do help a game, but 650k, are you kidding me? And I'm not a hater in any way possible, that's stupid. If I had a PS3 I would get VC for sure and I would still argue that the sales data is wrong, plain and simple. This has nothing to do with stupid biases or whatever you're thinking, I'm just being realistic. VC selling 650k in the Americas is not realistic. It just isn't the type of game that would do that, anime (which, again is JP only) or quality or whatnot. You can't tell me with a straight face that an RPG which sold 33k in its first month - with a surge later on, sure, but not something gigantic - sold 650k in a single region. It couldn't even do that in Japan even with an anime and "Best" release. Shouldn't VC have gotten a Greatest Hits by now too? |
Now the Greatest Hits thing is an actual piece of evidence, but I don't know what the requirements are for a game to get that so I can't tell you if that means it didn't sell 650k.
And I can absolutely say that with a straight face, though that's hard to prove over the internet.
