650k is ridiculous for an RPG in NA (barring FF/KH/Pokemon and a few games like Paper Mario) that wasn't advertised no matter how you spin it, proof or no proof. VGC isn't perfect, and I do recall even outlawauron mentioning that VGC has overtracked a lot of RPGs in the past. Believe what you want though.

Word of mouth works a whole lot more than you'd imagine. Especially on a console that was deprived of quality JRPG's, full of a userbase that wants quality JRPG's.

I've sold the game to about 4 people myself...

Edit: Also, the game had numerous ad campaigns on PSN itself, when every bit of DLC was released.
