After 34 witnesses testified in his trial, 7 black jurors and 5 white jurors found him guilty and sentenced him to death. His case has been seen by over a dozen different judges and his conviction was consistently upheld. Of the witnesses who have changed their stories, the majority claim that they couldn't positively identify Troy Davis as the murderer not that they saw someone else do it; and the other 25 witnesses still claim that Troy Davis is the shooter.

While you can argue whether he should be executed or not, based on readily available information it is understandable why his conviction is being upheld; and the questioning of the conviction seems to be based on half-truths that have been spread by the media.

Can you please tell me where you got the 34 witness thing? In the article I linked it says there were only 9 witnesses.

I got it from a blog where they linked ( http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2011/09/22/reflecting_on_troy_davis_execution )

I misread the original post, of the 34 witnesses most were not eyewitnesses of that shooting although many were eyewitnesses to a non-fatal shooting he committed earlier in the evening. On top of this, two of these witnesses testified that Troy Davis admitted to them that he committed the shooting.

LOL, I thought that was it. If there were actually 34 eyewitnesses then there wouldn't have been any fuss over this (not to mention that the guy would've deserved the award for Worst Murderer Ever, if there were that many eyewitnesses). The non-fatal shooting he commited earlier in the evening is pretty irrelevant to this case, since it in no way proves he commited this. Regardign those 2 'confessions', wasn't ti the typical scenrio where a cellmate hears a 'confession', and then makes a deal with the DA for a reduced sentence? If there isn't an actual recording where he sais 'I did it', I'll take those 'confessions' with a grain of salt.

That really sucks, but I'm with chocoloco on this one.

I wish there was a death penalty in my country. Would make a massive difference.

How so? Crime rates in the US are still very high compared to other countries which don't have the death penalty. Not to mention that this guy was essentially convicted based on circumstancial evidence and faulty witnesses. which is simply absurd.

if you kill people they aren't black holes for tax money theoretically.

There is large costs associated with individuals who are are executed.  There is debate over whether or not it costs more to give someone life in parole vs executing them.

Shake my fucking head...Innocent until proven guilty my ass

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
