How so? Crime rates in the US are still very high compared to other countries which don't have the death penalty. Not to mention that this guy was essentially convicted based on circumstancial evidence and faulty witnesses. which is simply absurd.

if you kill people they aren't black holes for tax money theoretically.

There is large costs associated with individuals who are are executed.  There is debate over whether or not it costs more to give someone life in parole vs executing them.
