I agree. This is my dilemma right now.

Even though the MGS HD collection is easily superior, I voted SE 3D.

This is because I'm leaving for university in London on Saturday and space is pretty tight in the car, so I'm told that I can only bring one of the my home consoles (PS3 and Wii). Given the fact that I'm currently engrossed in Xenoblade Chronicles and am eagerly anticipating Zelda SS, it was an easier decision that one would think, though part of me still feels like I'm betraying my PS3. At least until Christmas, when I'm be certain to bring both back up to London at the end of the holidays (a lot of my stuff will still be in my accommodation, freeing up space). So basically from Saturday to Christmas I will be a 3DS/Wii gamer, which will be OK but I'll miss my regular Blazblue online sessions though. That, plus the fact that I have fully functioning copies of MGS2 and PW, just not Snake Eater (Disc has stopped reading for some reason), has lead me to decide to get the 3DS version.

Since I dislike Metal Gear Solid 2, guess I might go with the 3D.

MGS3D was one of the only incentives for me to buy a 3DS...That incentive has now gone.

All my favourite PS2 games (minus RE4) on a handheld. Could it get any better?

I'm a huge Metal Gear fan (fuck MGS4, though. That game's story was bullshit) and I'm a huge 3DS fan but if I had both consoles, I wouldn't think twice on this one. MGS HDC PSV (Only to gamers, would that string of letters make any sense at all!) of course! MGS 2,3, and PW all on one card with dual analog and L2, R2 triggers easily trumps MGS 3 on 3DS!!

I plan on getting MGS HDC on PS3, too. That may end up trumping both versions unless they do something really creative for the 3DS, though. I don't think I'm getting a PSV at launch, anymore. It may be months down the line and by that time, I may actually be tired of MGS.

Well, based on trailers so far the 3DS version will not exactly look great (probably an understatement). The 3DS version IS supposed to have some other things going for it though that have not been in the original (as far as controls and customization I believe, perhaps some other things as well), and so it does still appear to have some advantages vs. the HD collection, depending on what you are looking for of course and which games you have already played and/or prefer.
