Don't know who rumour it up, but dlc onto the game card is really retarded assumption.

Sony did: http://psp.ign.com/articles/115/1153235p1.html

Interestingly, the cards themselves will reserve 5- to 10-percent of their total storage space for save data, game patches, and other updates, which will be less taxing to the NGP's internal storage and make continuing progress from one device to another easier.

where does it say DLC?

A friend of a friend told him that?

Nah, Sony told me that. Although I guess you'll argue that "DLC" and "add-on game content" are different things?

This was also on that FAQ sheet:

"Q: What are the features of the new game medium / storage media?

A:

New game medium

  1. It can not only store the full software titles but also save data as well as additional game content data. Therefore, the game title can be concluded with one piece of card.
  2. Users can play games by just inserting the game medium into PS Vita. (a separate storage media is not required.)

As for storage media, we will announce details at a later date."

Though the words are not verbatim, I think that is pretty definitively stating that a game can hold saves, updates, and DLC without the need of a storage card.

Therefore, Storage cards will just be used for: full game downloads (DLC, saves, updates for the digital game version), and for storing images, music, video, and non-default Apps.

To be honest, I felt that my first post was more than enough and only posted more accurate info when they tried to insult me. I didn't want to rub their faces in easily googled info.

But thanks for doing it for me, anyway.

I like that idea with DLC on the game card itself as it won't be eating into memory card space. Plus that you can for example join DLC with patches so everyone sees them when online when someone bought additional costumes etc.

And if they would be tied to game medium instead of account (one can dream) that would be great for second hand market ;)

Well, there goes the "all games will have their save data on the cartridge so no need for a memory card unless you download" theory - Uncharted Golden Abyss (the one launch game everyone seemingly intends getting) requires the memory card to save its data.
