Nice idea BlueShell (yes you, the guy with the water pokemon)!

Can any of the girls here help me out a bit?

I love playing games with my girlfriend, but usually she gets tired of a game after playing for 10 minutes or so. My greatest success so far has been completing Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light with her, but other than that, she only really wants to play for very, very short sessions. She does like Super Mario Galaxy 2 coop though, and various facebook games (Sims for example).

Any ideas for games we might be able to play for a longer time are appreciated. ^_^

But ok, I'll take it seriously for a minute, let's kickstart this. Like what's your favourite company? What are your favourite JRPGs? What do you think of the state of the industry as of now?


i like lots of companies, i like sega, level 5, capcom, falcom, square enix, etc. i'm currently playing wkc2 and ys seven. i have yakuza 4 to play next. taking longer than expected to finish those games cause i havent played much, been busy. i like ff6 and 8 the most out of ff games. i like the wild arms and suikoden series and i'm still waiting for them this gen.... losing hope though. i like the tales series too and will get graces f and xillia when they become available here.

i think that if the industry keeps going this way and jrpgs keep declining in home consoles for whatever reasons, there might come a time when i'll stick to portables in the future.

other than playing games i like to watch people play almost any game genre.

I actually just finished Yakuza 4. I loved it, it's one of my highest rated games this gen. A great story and so much to do, I spent over 100 hours on it

I was just thinking. Many of these games are kind of directed at straight men, like how in Yakuza 4 you have several minigames of sexual nature, flirting with hostesses and stuff. How do you see this? Do you enjoy these parts or just skip them if you have the option? Do you care at all?

Not a girl, but from my experience with my extremely casual girlfriend she's really into two-player competitive tetris. She just loves kicking my as...

Weren't you online dating like 10 minutes ago (Yes, I remember).... YOU SLY DOG YOU.

I would suggest Tales of Symphonia but you said short, but you could play it in short stints.

i dont really mind those scenes, i dont apreciate them like i would if i were a guy though

i take it she's not a gamer. dont know if i can help there. just keep trying, it will be hit or miss everytime till you figure out what she likes

This is exactly what I was talking about guys. Please keep it civil. You see how a lot of you spilled in and started either a) accusing me of being some sort of sexist or b) came in with the sole intent of doing exactly what I had asked you to keep from doing in the OP. This is why we don't have more discussion from female members around here. It ends up just being pointless for these members to try and have intelligent discussion when people act like this. I've never seen this side of you, trasharmdsister12!  It's turning me on! I would like to say that I was trying to be my usual cheeky self when I posted early in the thread.  I honestly didn't expect a single female to post in this thread and by the time I finished my first post, one had! 

I know your heart is in the right place but, to be honest, I can't think of a single thing to say to a girl in this thread.  I mean, they're just girls (and women).  They aren't mystical unicorns or anything.  I live in a house with two girls.  I actually have a few girls that I play online with on Xbox Live.  It's just that I don't think of them as girls.  Just like I don't think of people on this site as black, white, asian, gay, or straight.  I just see us as gamers.  NFG (aka Tino), Lolita, trashleg (aka YO MAMA!), Rutea, and anybody else that doesn't have a penis should just do like the rest of us.  Find a topic that interests them and post in it.  I've respected past members like Onna as well as current members like Lolita and trashleg because they didn't come here looking for attention because they were girls.  They came in here like they were one of the guys and I love 'em for it.  VGChartz Girl, GBallZack, and that GBallZack clone (can't think of her name) were all attention whores.  That's MY job!

Anyway, this is your thread and you have good intentions.  I just don't see the need for it like I don't see the need for a "welcome, black people!" or a "welcome gay people" thread.  On the internet, we're all just anonymous avatars that speak our mind, anyway.  Anyhoo, I've said my piece.  I'll just leave it at that.  Good luck with the thread, though.

Mario Kart would be the top game that comes to my mind (had an ex that was addicted to Mario Kart Double Dash back during college days).  I also got action thanks to Wii Sport Bowling.
