did you guys actually played the original ? i'm pretty sure non of you did, Syndicate wasn't that good of a game to begin with
i'm not interested anyways, i want Road Rash EA! , but XCom on the other hand.... -sigh- that was a real shame, since the original was great.

Shame on you, Pullus. Dead Can Dance records revoked for a month.

EA is an aboslute bunch of morons.

The industry is collapsing and they throw FPS after FPS without trying new things... I feel depressed now.

you are confusing them with Activision.

Activision

Call Of Duty , Call Of Duty , Call Of Duty , Call Of Duty , Call Of Duty , Golden Eye  ... and they're mostly the same.

EA
Crysis , Mirror's Edge, Battlefield  , Medal Of Honor. ..... none of these are the same.

keep on feeling depressed, but stop being ignorant , because the industry isn't collapsing at all, from that comment i feel like you are the one who's collapsing into tears.

Uhm Syndicate is brilliant..  taxing your conquered territories so you can do research and development.. but you couldn't tax too much otherwise they would revolt.. always being outnumbered so tactics and r&d to have better weapons was very important.. it also was critically acclaimed by the press.. so what was not good about it?

Remake rumours

As of Feb 2011 the rumour that Electronic Arts is about to release a re-make of Syndicate developed by Swedish game company Starbreeze, has not yet been confirmed even though a lot of indication have flourished the web throughout the past year. Among the stronger evidence is that Official Xbox 360 Magazine left out a teaser in mid-feb 2011 whereas the background graphics could indicate of what seems to be a Syndicate map.[citation needed]

Latest news on Neogaf[5] sadly shows that developer Starbreeze is re-imagining the franchise as a "Visceral FPS", which will no doubt go down as one of the more pointless genre-changes in franchise name-jacking ever.

well i never knew it was critically acclaimed, i just checked wikipedia to see that, i guess people can like anything.

it wasn't a "Bad" game mind you , but it wasn't that good to be acclaimed by press, sounds to me like its another case of.... Uncharted Dundundundundun =flame shieldon-

Syndicate was brilliant, great intro as well ( http://www.gamestar.de/index.cfm?pid=1589&pk=18965 ).

I'm looking forward to the re-release on gog.com (btw: the latest gog.com re-releases of EA/Bullfrog/Origin Systems games are Wing Commander 1+2, Populous, Dungeon Keeper 2 and Ultima I-VI).

I'm not interested in this reboot. If these screenshots are true, the new Syndicate looks like any modern 3rd person action game, just like the upcoming X-Com looks like any modern FPS. Syndicate was a RTS or real time tactics game, but why should the IP owner care...

Next up: Ultima reboot, you heard it here first. All aboard the hype train!

Ultima reboot is almost certeinly in the works. EA has been messing a lot with the IP recently. Can't wait till they throw DA2 engine into it  ;p

No, no, no, no, no... So wrong. I don't even know where to start. Let me put it this way: Syndicate, Magic Carpet, Dungeon Keeper 1+2 were by far the best that ever came out of a studio headed by Peter Molyneux. These 4 are among the best games I played in the 90s. Consider your Peter Murphy records revoked, as well, Mr. Severance.

It's sunday so I forgive you for forgetting about Populous & Theme Park...
