here... why don't u post a video comparison between Call of Duty 3 MP and the MP from Uncharted and see how many comments you get about which one looks worse.. which one is pushing the envelope. I promise you that Call of Duty trumps Uncharted in this regard.
It gets really, really annoying listening to people bash Call of Duty. And believe me, I'm not their biggest fan by any means, but the game is still one of the best looking, smoothest running, feature packed games out there.
Has it occurred to you, as far as the envelope goes, that you can only get so much in there.
Duh!
I mean, what exactly is it you expect.... nex-gen graphics?
nex-gen AI?
a nex-gen experience.
Whether you want to admit it or not, for what Call of Duty is and however you choose to catergorize it, it's arguably top 5, and definitely top 10, for whatever individual elements you'd like to examine.
Be it graphics
AI (which might possibly be the best out there)
Immersion
Value
or pretty much anything else you'd like to bring up. Story, I'll argue that with you too... it's an action flick, how deep do you really need it.
I'm probably not going to pick it up right away, as I'm sorta Call of Duty'd out.
But, I'm not so jaded on the gameplay, or resentful of Activision, to start ignoring the obvious and write the game off as a has-been.
Don't like it, don't play. There'll be someone to take your spot anyway.
Now... when the nex-gen rolls around and the game hasn't changed in any dramatical way.... then you'll have a point.
Certainly not now.
I think the envelope is pretty full.
