There is a lot of women developers in game studios , i don't see how this one stands out from the rest o_o

For her taste for some WRPGs that tend to be quite thick, The Elder Scrolls series has a quite standard fantasy setting (but with interesting references to the late Roman Empire), but a complex world, a complex stats system and a shitload of sidequests to get lost in, and some quite dark conspiracies too, Fallout series adds to all this a post-apocalyptic setting that usually (but there are exceptions), like the complex stats and leveling systems, attracts more male geeks than girls. I like strong women.

Edit: Oh, I answered before reading your edited posts, but I can just say nice examples, I like them and I like female gamers that go beyond just those games that once were considered suitable for girls. And I won't ditch Jade Raymond, I just needed a female dev and gamer example into stealth games!

Do you mean.... you never played with or seen a girl that plays that type of games? i find that hard to believe since most female gamer adore RPGs

(i hate the term "gamer girl" for some reason, it makes me think of those annoying hipsters)

The female gamers I know either love shooters or Mario and Zelda. None of them like RPGs, wether WRPGs or JRPGs.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

I had a sudden doubt, so, out of curiosity, I checked our awesome trashleg's collection, and even she has no Fallout games, although she has Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age ones.

what the hell guys? you make me lol sometimes VGchartz isn't the center of the world, there are a lot of girls who play that type of games, you just simply have to look , i really dislike the fact that most people consider girl gamers as a holy grail or something sacred that is unseen by human eyes or something, women don't need to be "OH HAI I'M A GIRL AND I PLAY GAMES!" , infact not even guys do that.
anyways you should go on UStream / Justin.tv and look at the gaming section , you will see a lot of woman gamers streaming that type of games, i've seen a bunch last week playing Metro 2033 , Deus Ex, and various Elder Scrolls mods, its not weird that women enjoy , enjoyable things, they're human after all.

Edit: here is one girl that does cool "Lets Play" videos for PC/Steam games. you guys should check her videos out, and add on steam if you want to.

I see no PS3 presence in the picture so I see no badassness.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I didn't just consider girls here on VGC, but also on usenet groups, other forums, and girls and women I know in real life, including fellow university students, girls and women I go dancing with and a few friends' daughters that are gamers. But I guess that being a lot older than you, I met more older girls and women that stuck to old stereotypes, also in gaming, I know younger ones that don't, but the many older ones shift the average of their tastes to a different direction from the younger on average ones you probably know. But even amongst the youngest I know, as I wrote, none likes WRPGs with post-apocalyptic settings, and very few like WRPGs with different settings, but with geeky, complex skill and leveling systems. OTOH many like JRPGs, and almost every one likes DK, Mario, Tetris, and, those that know it, Bubble Bobble.

get over it pulluspardus. Even with those examples,it's still a rariety that women play anytime of games at all. I mean there's millions of women in the world and I'm sure some women play videogames,as you've clearly shown, but that still doesn't mean it's common.

Damn, when I first looked at that picture I immediately thought it was a Skyrim limited edition Xbox 360 console. :(

Yeah wth? Never seen a girl play an RPG in person. Only the Sims, Mario, Fifa and casual games/dance games

If it makes you feel better, I dislike stuff like the Sims and FIFA (and pretty much all sports games) and I haven't played Mario or Zelda since I was a kid. But I do play plenty of RPGs, shooters, action and adventure titles. I love Fallout AND fantasy games like Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls. I just finished Deus Ex, Metro 2033 is on my pile of shame, and I plan on losing all semblance of a social life once Skyrim comes out.

Female gamers like me do exist! We're all probably just too busy playing games to shout out our preferences on the internet. :)
