Well since it got adjusted down it took JW a extra day to pass Avengers: Age of Ultron world wide but it did it with Mondays numbers. Box office mojo needs to update their numbers for Furious 7 its still playing in discount theaters and they haven't updated it since June the 18th.

Actually no, It got adjusted down domestically but the actuals for its international gross last weekend got adjusted up(from $826.9 to 828.3)which pretty much placed its total gross back to $1385b which is above Avengers AOU.

Good news, the numbers.com has even more up to date international numbers they have it $833.5 world wide and its already ahead by a little more then $10 million of Avengers Age of Ultron on their list.

JW is still grossing $5m a day internationally. It should be nearing $900 after this weekend. Hopefully it reaches $900 even! If it does then surpassing $1.6b should be an easy feat.

It should also get at least another $100 million from Japan when it opens there on August 5th.  It should eventually make over 1 billion overseas.

Minions did better then DM2 on its opening weekend kinda expected box office mojo had it as one of the movies from 2015 that would make over a billion dollars world wide but surprisingly JW wasn't on that list.

Mad Max finally crossed 150 million in the states! With overseas included I am still unsure of why the greenlit a sequel so fast.

JW will struggle to pass The AVengers.

Selfless is yet another bomb from whoever this guy is. I am already forgetting his name. Deadpool will revive him a bit.

JW will pass it without much a strugle both domestically and WW it's still doing well over 3 million a day in the US and did 18million this weekend. It needs only 33 million more dometically to pass the total, while outside the US only needs another 20 million.

You're joking right? It passing TA is something that even the most pessimistic box office estimate can't stop. The only way it won't pass or crawl to surpass TA is if Universal and Legendary takes it off theatres worldwide or takes off like 90% of its screens, like today, which is obvioucly not happening. It's only been a month since its release, and it still has a month or two more for its run. How could it possibly not earn a measly $30m more in that time?

JW in one month:

$1.47b

The Avengers lifetime:(more than 5 months in cinemas WW)

$1.52b

JW will clearly pass Avengers, it is close enough and is still making enough money that it will easily pass Avengers and should ,ake over 1.6B. But the length of time in theatres isn't a meaningful statistic if you don't connect it to how much it is currently making. The last part of a films run is practically irrelevant.

JW is just a couple of days away from passing Titanic's original domestic total which was almost $601 million.

Longevity is important to a films success. It is also important since many studios extend their films run to get more money, either to surpass a record or to earn a milestone. It could to jump over 100m,200m,500m, and such or to beat other movies. I wouldn't be surprised if Universal and Legendary extends JW's run by adding more screens if it comes really close to Titanic's total gross to beat it.

batman v superman and star wars the force awakens will break all box office records and they both will reach avatar level money

I HIGHLY doubt BVS would but Star wars has a high chance. It just needs to be good. Although Avatar levels? Unlikely.

No, SW has no chance. I don't know why people keep saying that x movie will break records. The same thing was said of Age of Ultron.

That's not a fair comparison. JW opened in all territories at the same time.
