Jurassic World has now beaten both Harry Potter(DH part2) and The Avengers in both domestic and International box office gross on opening weekend with a total of $524 million.

Then Star Wars will take both of those records when it debuts in December.

Jurassic World made $300 million domestically in 8 days beating The Avengers record(9 days).

Amazing, but it will not beat TA's 2nd weekend record -$103M.

Ita possible that it does, but It will be close even if it falls short.

we shall see tomorrow.  The pre-estimates have it at 100-105, and 103 is the current record.  I think it can do it.  I'd be okay with it either way.  I loved both films and I am just glad to see the movie I WANTED to succeed but didn't expect to succeed...succeeding! 

It will most likely beat it. Everyone thought it won't beat the avengers before but it did, and it has beaten it evrry single day since then. If it does then it would even be more remarkable as it has a strong competitor with Inside Out. Back then The Avengers had no competition at all.

Even if it doesn't beat the record, both Jurassic World and Inside Out will be over $90M this weekend, which is amazing to say the least.

Incredible year at the box office so far, and we still have mega-blockbusters who might be even bigger than the ones we got so far - Mission Impossible 5, THG: Mockingjay Part 2, Spectre and.. of course, Star Wars.

I find it weird that we aren;t talking about the long-standing record of over 10 years that's about to be decimated...Highest Opening Weekend NOT at #1.  Prior, it was The Day After Tomorrow with 68 million, but it's gonna be Inside Out with 20 million more than that!
