Frozen, sing-along coming out in 1000 theaters this weekend.
gonna take the kids to see it.
it will make $15m or more. Will top DM2 easily.

"1000 theaters" give us nothing, because it can mean 1000 screens and 1000 shows per day, as well as 5000 screens and 40000 shows per day, you see the range?

Theaters < Screens < Shows.

Frozen will top $400m domestically.

More like $380m

If it performs great in Japan and China, will it go over $1b ww?

You kinda answered this question yourself))

Frozen is still behind DM2 by more then $8 million dollars domestically when you compare their box office totals after 68 days. It will have more direct animated competition in less then two weeks with The Lego Movie so I doubt it will surpass DM2 domestic box office total but it will come pretty close to it the final total will be around the $365 million mark. It will also fall short of DM2 overseas and wold wide total but will probably end up a lot closer to it then I first though so probably almost at $950 million.

at the rate of how Frozen is doing, it will easily beat DM2 domestically and probably even come close or exceed $400 million. It should be able to exceed DM2 early February or at most mid- February. Day by day comparison shows Dm2 is still on the lead, but if we were to include how much they are earning day by day then Frozen is definitely leading.

Dm2 in the same days as Frozen earned around less than 70k on weekdays and 600k on weekends while Frozen in the same number of days is still earning 600k-almost a million on weekdayss and more than 2million-4million on weekends. Even with competition coming, that won't bring those earning down too much. And with the help of the Sing along versions this friday, it will surely boost it's gross even more(no matter how small that boost is).

It's not going to beat DM2 domestically becasue at its current rate its over $8 million dollars behind it when both movies where released the same amount of day.  Also The Lego Movie will take a huge chunk out of Frozen's earnings once it launches in less then two weeks.

Yes it will, and I'm sure of that. It's 8 million behind in the same number of days but that's only because DM2 started with a bigger earning. That's like saying Avatar would not have beaten Twilight in box office gross just because Twilight beats Avatar in earnings in a certain number of days. For example Avatar earned $212 million in 10 days while Twilight eclipse earned $227 million in the same number of days! Oh no twilight is $15 million ahead of Avatar it will definitely earn more. But no it did not since Avatar eventually earned more per day. It's the same thing with Frozen. and Dm2. Frozen is earning more than Dm2 per day.

Well even if it does end up slightly ahead of DM2 at the end of the day DM2 is still much more profitable since it cost a lot less to make $76 million versus $150 million.

The numbers are close enough that what film will have higher profitability will depend on earnings other than box office. But DM2 will finish ahead both in NA and worldwide, it's now on track for over a billion.

I think if you also consider how successful Frozen's OST is then it might be more profitable than DM2. Frozen's OST is topping Billboard 100 and charts all over the world. The song "Let it go" also went viral in Youtube and is also topping charts around the world. Most of the songs in the OST are also charting high.

I doubt that just the soundtrack would make it more profitable then DM2 since not that many people buy soundtracks in the first place.  The only way that Frozen could be more profitable overall if it has a ton more merchandise then DM2.
