DM2 has a chance to make $150m in 5 days. Most likely at $140m maybe $150.
that's nuts.
compare to that, Lone Ranger is hoping to get around $55 in 5 days.

Also, Pacific Rim is looking good. read what Hideo Kojima had to say on twitter

Well I called it a long time ago The Lone Ranger is officially a bomb. Its going to be a long time before another Western gets a budget anywhere close to $200 million.

Is Lone Ranger really that bad? Gonna take the wifey to find out on Tuesday. Good thing for Disney that Iron Man 3 and MU2 did well. Took the risk with Lone Ranger and lost big.

I'm surprised that The Lone Ranger got released in almost as many theaters as DM2 it will drop a lot of them fast I'm sure it will be below 3,000 three weeks from now.

I saw Despicable Me 2 last night.
It was sooooo good!!!!
Funniest movie of the summer, and maybe the year.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Since DM2 cost a lot less to make then Monsters University it already made more money then it plus it will pass its total box office eventually probably in one to two weeks. DM2 should be the highest grossing animated movie of 2013 unless The Smurfs 2 does insanely good overseas.

I had no idea that the first DM movie made that much.  Smurfs 2 will probably make a lot more overseas then the first one especially since its set in Paris, France but it will probably not make enough domestically to surpass DM2 world wide total it probably will make more then Monster University also.   MU had a crazy high budget its listed at $270 million on wikipedia but that is the total buget including advertising still pretty high for a animated movie.  I'm guessing it breaks down to a $170 million dollar production budget and a $100 million dollar advertising budget.

Wow, Pacific Rim starts this Friday and also Atlantic Rim.
My bet is on Pacific Rim to make more money.

Atlantic Rim is a cheap knock off movie like Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies was last year.  Not sure on how well Pacific Rim will do this weekend I hope it does well the trailers look good and all the reviews have been mostly positive so far I know it will do well when it opens in Japan a month from now since they love movies that feature mechas and big monsters.

Pacific Rim has a budget of $180m
Warner Bros. are projecting the film to make $30m this weekend. That's about the same as the Lone Ranger.

It will be another big loss for Hollywood.

DM2 will be first again this weekend
