Once skyfall releases in china, it should pass the dark night rises :P

There's little chance of that happening

Skyfall is just about to pass 1 billion without china.

Yes, but it has slowed to a crawl and it probably wouldn't reach 1B without China. China is not going to give it 100m more, I don't think.

Batman is around 1.08b, so skyfall needs 100m to pass it

It should get around 30-35m from china, so it needs to scrape 70m elsewhere :)

Yep, that's what I don't see happening either ;o. It's going to get...what...maybe $10-$15m more from USA and perhaps 30-40m at most outside of USA/China

Well, i'm hoping china get's behind this movie :P because it's skyfalls only chance :(

Idk if it can happen, though I'm rooting for it. It's at 1 billion exactly right now. Domestic shouldn't bring in more than another 10-12 million; overseas minus China just brought in 16 million this past week (but it got 13 mill the previous week, which means it will drop off a bit after holidays), so another 20 mill total could be possible.

China is definitely a bit of a toss up. Think casino royale and QoS did low to mid 20's in china, but skyfall has blown past all other bond movies overseas, and I think china also has rapidly expanded their theater count in the past several yrs; so, should get no less than 30 mill there. TDKR did like 50 mill in china, so if skyfall could match that, it could be right around 1.080 bill

Is it just me or did Wreck it Ralph completely flop overseas? 100m is very weak for an animated movie these days

Still hasn't released in many/most of the overseas markets yet though. Wont do amazing numbers regardless, but could get to maybe 150-200 mill i think

Hasn't been released in all foreign markets yet typical slow overseas release for a Disney/Pixar computer animated picture still too early to judge to oversease numbers in about four weeks there will be a clear picture on how its really doing overseas.

Does it only count if wreck it makes it past in 2012?

Just don't think it has a change at getting at $200 milllion domestically anymore its legs are just too weak and it still almost needs $25 million dollars to get there.  Also its changes to get there where sabotaged by Disney themselves since they re-released Monsters, Inc. in 3D which is most likely taking away a small chunck of Wreck-It Ralph's domestic box office.

Just saw this in the new overseas article for this past weekend on Box Office Mojo:  "Wreck-it Ralph expanded in to 40 territories (55 percent of the international marketplace) and earned $20.4 million. As a result, the Disney Animation movie was able to finally push past $100 million overseas."

Some hope!

From Box Office Mojo:

"The movie still has an opening in China to look forward to in January, and a final total just under $1.1 billion isn't out of the question."

Holy hell! it was only 970m a few days ago :S

All skyfall needs now is just another 30m and china will do the rest :)

Batman here we come!!!

So does that mean skyfall is better than batman?

It's a matter of opinion, although i did enjoy skyfall slightly more then the dark night rises.

I'm sure The Hobbit will hit a billion.

This year Men of steel, star track and iron man 3 can reach that mark.
