Hello. I'm having a weird issue with my Xbox 360 that i haven't been able to find solutions for. During gaming sessions (and when i'm in the menu's or running something like Netflix) the Xbox shuts itself off and then reboots itself in 480i resolution. I'm running the Xbox via component cables for 720P on my HDTV and not sure why it reboots itself into 480i. Has anyone else experience this problem or have any ideas on how to fix it? I'm using an old 20gig launch Xbox 360 and i've double checked the video cables to make sure they're plugged all the way and that the cable is on the "HDTV" selection.

Sounds like a scaler issue to me. E74 may be just around the corner I'm afraid. A good run for a launch model though.

Hmmm.. get an HDMI cable if it's just the screen that restarts, I guess. It's miles better anyway.

You have Problems with your PS3 and 360 at the same time ? Atleast you are lucky that your launch models lasted that long.

HDMI isn't inherently better than component, just more convenient.

Given that HDMI maxes out @ 1080p and component does on 720p/1080i, HDMI is better.
