Wasn't expecting much, but this result is just pathetic. I actually wonder why people in Hollywood think projects like that would be succesful.

The truth is,they dont have that many choices left. They ran out of ideas a while ago.

I'm pretty sure they must have some options. If they remake Gone with the Wind I will personally egg every one of their houses!

All past big movies will be eventually remade.Even the Harry Potter movies in 20-30 years.Titanic too, among other examples.

And they will all bomb. The only type of movies that should be remade are those that sucked, but had potential (for example Ben-Hur, the famous version with Charleton Heston, is actually the second remake of a movie that originally bombed). If a movie is already massively succesful, and considered a classic (like Gone with the Wind, which is universally acclaimed by critics, and actually has the highest cinemat attendance ever, the most watched telecast ever etc.) then a remake of it (which will no doubt be inferior in every way) will bomb hard.

Iconic movies shouldn't be remade!!!

I agree.I'm still waiting for Warner Bros. to remake Matrix 2&3

Conan, definitely. Green Lantern was at least able to break even internationally. Of course, when Hollywood announces movie budgets larger than 100-150 mil you should take it with a grain of salt. Especially when it comes to potential "blockbusters." They always inflate the budget to make it seem the movie is larger than it was/is. Hell, I bet Green Lantern already made its real budget back with just the domestic.
