Just saw the actual gameplay trailer for MW3 in COD XP, and it was a LOT better than the one they had up earlier. Makes me think why they even made the first one.

Just the the Call of Duty XP live stream thingy. WOW!
They made a lot of changes to the multiplayer. There's just way too much stuff to list so I suggest you guys look it up somewhere.
Looks like they messed with the kill streak and perk system a ton... everything seemed to take a ton of kills to be able to use.
Watching videos of the MP on tejbz youtube channel, it looks great except for a few things. Quickscoping is back in full force exactly the same as MW2, not sure how they could screw up that much. I'm pretty sure they have a pro perk to counter the counter UAV from what i heard. This is going to screw up lots of my fun since its my second most used killstreak in blops.
The red dot looks pretty much the same as CoD4 which is great and they have lots of sights from the looks of it. There are also tons of gamers that only play CoD, so having a new game each year is amazing so stop hating on that.

Nah man, I know what you mean because that is what it looks like at first, but if you look closely they have actually done quite a few cool things to balance the game out.
Things that I really liked:
-Point streak: Finally you can get killstreaks for caturing objectives rather than just get kills. This should really help to actually bring the team together in objective game modes. Plus the streak do not reset when you die (except for specialist but that gives you other penalties), so its only natural that it takes more kills to get the streaks, otherwise you would be swamped with killstreaks.
-Perks: No more commando, one man army, danger close, last stand bullshit. Overall the perks seem relatively balanced and they have broken up Ghost Pro into two perks, Sleight of hand pro into 2 perks, etc so you don't get one perk thats way overpowered.
-Weapons: No more secondary shotguns and crazy shit like that. I was a bit on the fence with secondary machine gun pistols, but they seem they could be fun.
-Killstreaks: There are a shit load of them. But the good thing is that depending on your class you can only pick certain ones, so hopefully no overpowered killstreak combinations.
-Elite social integration: Now this looks like it could take the whole playing together experience to a whole new level.
-New modes: Nuff said.
Finally the one thing that I was hoping that they would announce is dedicated servers for consoles, but nothing so far which is very annoying for me. Other than that, the MP looks to have fixed a lot of problems that plagued previous CODs, so this game is looking like it could be great fun with the social elite support.

Good to know! I figured they just needed to explain it out a bit.
Also, yes, Dedicated Servers for consoles would finally put the icing on the cake for me with this game. Yeah my internet is fast and I get "host" quite often, but even then you have plenty of noticeable lag/bullet lag/etc that dedicated servers could fix. With CoD Elite adding revenue to Activision, and this game already on track to sell 20 million+ on consoles, there really is no reason why they can't. At least implement dedicated servers for the bigger game types like Ground War would or anything more than 5v5 would be nice.

Yea that presentation skimmed over all those things way too fast, I had read over the perks/ks later to understand what changes they made. I'm sure I have missed many other changes, but those seemed major.
And yes, I completely agree, I have pretty decent connection too but I don't think everyone does, so what we get is bullet lag, etc as you mentioned. And I don't know about you, the host always seems to disconnect/dashboard almost every match leading to migration and half of the time the migration is unsuccesful so the game gets booted. I don't see why we have to experience this crap any longer when they can easily fix all this stuff with dedicated servers, I mean looks at homefront, it an unknown IP but it still did dedicated servers and the experience was so much better with them.
I am exited to test drive the new multiplayer changes. As far as yearly iterations go. There is going to be not much difference between EA and Activision. EA's got their Medal of Honour and Battlefield series fired up and probably joined soon by Respawn Entertainment (exited to see what they do).
The changes are subtle yet deep as small things can affect the gameplay quite a bit. I guess sort of like Pokemon games. I don't know anything about those games and they don't come every year but when they do; they look the same to an outsider but friend's love them and go gaga at the changes.
How much more does it cost to run the dedicated servers then the P2P system they have now. What large player base shooter games even have dedicated servers? Blops each day has over 1million online at a time with 360+ps3. Add in Cod4, W@W and MW2 and the numbers must be massive.

It will cost more but I think some of the proceeds from XBL goes towards maintaining the P2P infrastructure of COD, etc. So I'd imagine MS would pay for some of those dedicated servers for XBL. For PS3, Acti would have to pay for the whole thing.
But thats besides the point, I'm sure Acti has enough money in their vaults to run dedicated servers to run for a million players on average daily. Thats the only thing this game needs atm, everything else it looking awesome.
