Forums - Nintendo - Dolphin 3.0 Wii/Gamecube Emulator (7719 build) is awesome

It's a shame most emulators don't get this much attention.

I will update the emulator once I have upgraded my PC components.

Awesome, I was looking to replay some GC games this dolphin update is just gravy.

Time for hype

I've been loving it so far and all games have been stable so far except Xenoblade Chronicles.

It looked incredible on Dolphin. It felt quite strange when I'd started over on my Wii.

I've since figured it out but I've invested too much time onto on the Wii to start over now. Not that it looks bad anyway. Gorgeous game.

Here's how it looked on dolphin:

Nice screenshots...shows the difference for sure.  Playing this in like a 55 inch+ TV really makes a huge difference.

I am not going to lie, I sold my Wii months ago and kept one of the Wiimote combos and wireless sensor bar for this. I find that playing most normal games with the 360 pad is gravy, but you still need the wiimote for things like wii sports aad boomblox...

Below are things you will need to run game smoothly in 720p and AA enabled.

- 3.0 Ghz or higher dual core CPU (only uses 2 cores)
- 2 GB or higher of ram
- GTX 260, 4850 or higher
- iso file of the wii/gamecube title you want to play
- latest Emulator build you can find

How to make a Wii or Gamecube iso?

Download Rawdump 2.1 and insert your Game DVD into your DVD Drive. Press "Start Dump". This may take a while. The game will be saved as a .wii or .wod file. After the dump has finished, press "Convert raw to .iso" and you are done. Open the .iso file with Dolphin and have fun.

doesn't that only work with a small number of DVD drives which are no longer in production?

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

mini-games on consoles, cinematic games on handhelds, what's next? GameBoy IMAX?

What input does the Wii use there? Composite? My friends use component, it's nowhere near as blurry.
Of course, Dolphin would still look better.

I wouldn't say a small amount but there are some trouble games. Anything dual layer pretty much is screwed...

Most people don't bother with these as softmodded Wii's themselves can dump games on to USB hard drive which can move them to comp. But it should still work...

Component. Though on my TV (50"), I'm sitting a considerably larger distance than from my monitor.

I think it actually looks better playing on my Wii than looking at my screenshot, too.

50"? Nice ;) (imagine that with composite :P)

And yeah, it just came off surprisingly blurry.

How do you get the Wiimote/sensor bar working with the PC. (yes, I know I could google it, but meh)

ok I also realize I have to have bluetooth for wiimotes... but sensore bar is still puzzling.. are there USB mods or something or just a custom sensor bar that plugs into wall/batteries?
